That’s the hope
And if I can spread a little cheer along the way by being a figure of fun then why not
Temporarily yes, but having surgery in a few weeks and then it’ll be back to square 1. Or more likely minus-1
FWIW centre parcs has their own, admittedly less-cultured, version of this with a kids softplay in the corner of all “restaurants”
Yet it still manages to be terrible
(I’ve not been since our kids were school age as a long weekend is more expensive than a week somewhere I’d actually like to go)
Hard to disagree with that. Even my son mocked me
Is there a sporting activity that makes one look more ridiculous than me “running” in the swimming pool?
I ran 26 lengths today. It works as a workout for sure. Calves and arms quivering at the end
But I went doolally and lost count several times
And got a lot of weirded-out stares from folk
Not now semi-autonomous construction
“Hero turtles” not ninja turtles in the uk.
Because authorities worried ninjas would promote violence among kids…
Lots of Vaseline or bodyglide would be needed
Record for fastest marathon in jelly shoes is up for grabs
I almost got blisters on my feet running/jogging lengths of the swimming pool this week, from the pool tiles
Things I never thought I’d experience
Such is life pre ACL-surgery
Must have looked a right plonker but it actually got the heart rate up quite nicely
And have now ordered water shoes
Can’t wait to hear Tracy and Joe’s reaction
Interesting! My experience has been much more favourable here vs Geneva.
But it did pour with rain when I was in Geneva whereas on my last trip here I had a lovely run along the lake in the sun finished off with a swim in the river
n=2 so this is obviously not conclusive
A Canadian mate said he lived here as a graduate and it was less than ideal
Rivella is nice! Can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before
Not a pub as such but very good food
Hawksmoor lunch offer is incredible value. £19 for a main and side, £23 for 2 courses, £26 for 3
(£3 cheaper than that in Edinburgh vs London)

I nearly caused an outcry last time I was here by being weirded out by the bolognese on macaroni with apple sauce dish
Hahaha. Why the beef or is that too delicate a subject?
Sadly not, work schwork
Leg is actually feeling in great shape but I’m getting operated on on 1 April so I’ll be back to square 1 after that
I went to Lugano with work in the autumn and was properly wowed by how pretty it was
The consensus aligns with my initial decision
It’s locked in
I’m a big fan of it. Love the way the river and lake are so much part of life
I’ve been to Switzerland quite a few times over the years and never actually heard of a rivella before now. What’s it actually taste like?
Schrodingers currency: it is both fiat and crypto
I love Zurich but sadly since I’m nursing a torn ACL I won’t be able to get out and about for my usual long run
That’s my favourite way to soak up a city when only there for a short time
Just got to my hotel in Zurich and this is directly opposite. It would be rude to eat anywhere else tonight wouldn’t it?
And yes I will be having the second portion
Watching Newcastle beat Barcelona 3-2 was one of the greatest experiences of my football viewing life
Can still remember being blown away by the amount of hang-time Asprilla got
Come on the Toon!
Yeah I’m a relative baby still in Schroders terms
Our U.K. equity PM, Sue Noffke told me she’s on more than 60%!
I can’t believe I’ve spent nearly a quarter of my life at Schroders
The 6 Nations before I joined, Scotland lost every match and had a points difference of -200
I may not be a generational talent on the scale of Finn Russell but I’d like to think we’ve both made our mark 🤣
🥳

I’m working on high level gics sectors, should have been clearer about that
