Wanna see a crazy chart? Of course you do.

Spending on constructing datacenters and manufacturing facilities for computers & electronic products in the US now exceeds the entire retail and wholesale industry and almost as much as the rest of the office and manufacturing sectors combined.

Also worth checking if you can get a deal on TNT when renewing broadband if you’re with BT.

I got lucky with a mad Β£2/month deal for tnt (even the BT person on the phone was shocked by it)

Probably catch some premier league football matches with that too

I get genuine pleasure out of reading the FT restaurant reviews (even more so now with Jay Rayner)

There’s a colour, rhythm and storytelling to them that you don’t find elsewhere

I’d also include lunch with the FT, as it acts as an endorsement by the guest, while also giving an insight into them

πŸ“Š#FridayChartQuiz is back!

This is the number of what in the USA? It’s fallen a third since 2023

Clue: President Trump cares about it

Alas they have been running it for a long time now. I’m rubbish at theirs

Would probably be rubbish at mine too if I didn’t come up with the questions 🀣

But surely there was still a default? And who’d put a 20yr old with 40+ years to retirement heavily in bonds?

More 401(k) investors are 80%+ allocated to stocks than ever before

What on earth were young folk invested in in 2005?! Or was that just down to falling dotcom values and no rebalancing rather than an allocation decision?

Trying to quieten his shouts and screams when they scored so his little sister didn’t wake in the room next door

And the real misery affecting him when they were one-down despite being on top all match

Football, bloody hell

We’re in Italy on holiday and my (half Scottish/half English) son just stayed up until nearly midnight watching as he is so into it

Always amuses me the love there is for tennent’s super in Italy

And by the state of this display it’s selling out fast!

Also a good opportunity to share one of the least-FT FT articles ever, where the journo goes boozing to follow the story

Really grateful that you’ve entered this debate. You have a powerful platform that can help

FWIW here’s my tuppence worth (you may not agree with all of it but I’m confident you and your followers will agree with some)

Although I will give them tremendous credit for doing it in a sympathetic classy way. It didn’t feel Disney-fied. And you could very easily leave the crowds behind and find a tranquil spot

Contrasts with Taormina where I felt the beauty was overshadowed with over tourism when I visited there

Yes and it was. Only there for one night but that was enough with the kids. Makes me want to learn more about it

There’s also something uneasy about what was one of the poorest areas of Europe, now turned into hotels and restaurants

I loved it. But I couldn’t escape that thought
