BRO the vets at the shelter can do kitten surgeries SO FAST. It's WILD. We were done by like 12:30 and all animals were awake and doing well by 1! Like it only took a couple hours in the morning to do them all...!
aaa helping with surgery today was AMAZING!!! we're behind because we're over capacity at the shelter, so we did Saturday surgery today... Normally it's weekday only. WE DID 40 SURGERIES ON CATS! And I had to care for them all waking up, and our heat support was dying 😳

THE kitten lady came to my job today to talk about kitten welfare and it was so interesting! it's fascinating to hear just how much of an american problem orphaned kittens is 😳
we also got OUR shelter stats for this year so far. 5k kittens, 600 fosters, 7000 foster hours (in and out of shelter)!

We have a newish dog at work who’s been so so terrified… but after a couple of weeks he’s finally starting to open up to us and relax at least a little bit 🥺 Looking forward to his continued progress
WE LOVE A FELLOW ANIMAL PERSON!! I work at a shelter in care, enrichment, and behavior, foster bottle baby kittens (why is kitten season still going strong 😓) and volunteer at my zoo educating people on conservation!
Fun fact: I have previously fostered dogs for seeing-eye dog programs as well
