for every 1 person who loudly tells you they're not into what you post you'll get 3 ppl who are foaming at the mouth for it and 10 ppl who will tell you 6 months later that they love it but were too embarrassed to say so when it was posted
when I catch myself getting shit wrong because I just read the first bit and go "I know this", I end up giving up again because I see the memorization/pattern recognition parts of me have gotten involved and 'learning' is no longer happening, just 'getting answers correct'
I think it's the first - my biggest obstacle every time I get it into my head to try to learn Japanese is that most of the resources out there are focused solely on teaching you words/short phrases, which quickly becomes a memorization game and not actual learning because you have no context.
Even to like 10-year-old me it seemed kind of insane to go up to a kid and be like "hey make some decisions about your life right now with no consent or input from your parents" but I was always a joiner and people-pleaser so I was ready to agree - only my anxiety eventually stopped me
My immediate family wasn't very religous, but extended family and some neighbors were. I had few opinions until our neighbors took us to church with them a few times, at which point I saw the pressure tactics first hand and didn't like it. I was minutes away from being baptized before pulling out.
I sometimes get a little anxiety from being full electric but I've really only messed up one road trip - wasn't thinking on a trip back from Indianapolis when I stopped at the same place outside Chicago we stopped on the way out to charge. Felt dumb having to stop an hour from home to charge again.
It's appropriate that I learned this in the comments for a story about how the draft is considered to be on the table for the Iran not-a-war - "Country" Joe McDonald, a lifelong antiwar musician, died this weekend. If you've got any exposure to him, it's probably "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag"
Me and my Bolt are at least a testament to the idea that not all of my decisions are bad ones
Goat was pretty good! I'm a little mad they used "I Wish" in the trailers and never in the movie lol
I kept waiting for the horns to fade in and nothing!
Modo IS icon, though
The trailer will be here soon! #coyotevsacme #looneytunes

Just in case this post gets deleted by big corp.
MFF's biggest problem at this point is that as a social fandom, there's still a huge stigma to not being in main. As long as you're in one of the skybridge attached hotels, afaic it's just as good. Even with that as your baseline though, it's a bitch to get a hotel, which sucks.
it's my home con so it always has a place for me, but I agree that it's just really big. They do Anime Central in the same place, though, and although they stopped reporting attendance after 2018, that year they were at 33k and afaik have continued to grow, so the space is there.
but on the other hand if you've got transport, a lot of nice things are within a nice driving distance. However the parking situation is sometimes a problem, especially if you're in main, so you're less likely to want to try to find a spot again from leaving
the shuttles were prompt and often. The location of the con does suck - there's nothing really in convenient walking distance and only a few choices in inconvenient walking distance (mcdonald's, giordano's, and the outlet mall)
What I will say about MFF is the shuttle system was very good. The last time I went I wasn't in main but I would walk across the street to the outlet mall for my first meal of the day and then catch the shuttle to the con center - they arrived like every 10 minutes at the outlet mall.
how it started -> how it's going
for the youths who werent around for the iraq installment
- dont believe anything the govt says about progress
- no the democrats dont have to say getting rid of the baddie was good and therefore they have to support the war
- the war needs to be ended
- the media is not your ally and they love war
theyre just all so fucking stupid and we were told we had to be respectful and treat their stupid fucking opinions seriously even though we knew its all bull shit and now here we are
trickle down economics is bull shit and if you believe it then you are stupid. great replacement is bull shit and if you believe it then you are racist. vaccines are safe and effective and if you believe otherwise you should be shunned from society
You wanna unlock a bunch of real simple foods that don't require a ton of effort or knowledge, get yourself a simple sous vide setup. The sous vide chicken I made for my husband the first time I visited him at home eventually encouraged him to take his first steps into cooking because of the ease.
If you wanna be radicalized against GenAI, try running an online business while these thieving shitbricks try to scrape your site at all hours of the day, creating a looping, endless DDoS.
Fuck generative "AI." It's all slop built on wholesale theft.
1. This is despicably evil.
2. This needs to be fought at every level. There is no world in which this cannot be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
3. Those behind this effort need to be exposed and never know a moments peace.
for fuckin' real. It's bad enough that they're just standing idly by while those assholes loot the government and terrorize our neighbors, but then they have the gall to keep sending out begmail "we need YOUR help to continue doing nothing!"
Fuck these people.
God fucking damnit.
i know buds mean well when they post stuff like ‘i cant believe chuck tingle went from erotica to traditional bestseller lists’ and thats FINE. i take it in the kind way it is intended. at same time, i want to live in a world where fantastical sexuality in art is not seen as a gutter to emerge from
