it's wild the relief I'm brought to finally see taste in games I actually like reflected in journalism. Maybe I just haven't been looking but it feels like so long. There's this deep joy in feeling like maybe I'm not an alien after all, and maybe I do actually still like video games? lmao.

Sometimes gamedev is writing a whole new system from scratch in a few hours and having it work fine. And sometimes gamedev is spending hours trying to figure out why some specific little widget is misbehaving.

Yeah it's uncharted waters. There is no direct equivalent you can compare to. Then there is the technology aspect, which both makes it possible to record and instantly share this insanity, but also helps with oppression.

It was so, so easy to see this coming. It gives me no pleasure to have been expecting this for the last year.
