I feel like I could have prevented authors from signing with Unbound, and maybe not be in their current position. Obviously it’s not guaranteed; and who knows what would have happened… but I never will now.

Just to clarify, I discovered this back in 2019. Me sharing it now is a guilt-ridden warning to everyone, if you see people you respect working with people who seem to not be working to the same ethical standard… say something.

But still, I wish I raised the alarm back then when I saw it; I might have stopped some people from signing on Unbound’s dotted line.

I have never once stated that this was recent or related to the current situation; just that it was a red flag *at the time* that I should have paid attention to, and provided evidence that the information is true.

Another names associated with both companies, but with different correspondence addresses:

John Mitchinson, listed as a Writer at UAP, but publisher at Boundless.

The John Mitchinson at Boundless resigned on the 28th of May.

If this is the same person, while not currently violating of the Company Disqualification Act 1986, there’s potential Dr Sharma could be disqualified from creating or managing a Limited company in the United Kingdom once insolvency proceedings have been completed at United Authors Publishing Limited

Another red flag regarding Unbound and Boundless Publishing Group;

Both companies have a “Dr. Archna Kumari Sharma” listed as a company director, however with two different correspondence addresses, but both reside in the United States.

But I’ll wait for United Authors Publishing to reach out themselves. (2/2)

The Registered Company number is Unbound though, so not only is it an associated address (although not the one registered with Companies House), there’s two pieces of evidence linking this to Unbound (/United Authors Publishing Limited).

I’m certainly not going to accuse them of that directly. The current “stolen royalties” fiasco comes from Boundless Publishing Group purchasing Unbound’s IPs without any responsibility for the debt around those IPs, which feels illegal… but we’ll only know for sure once’s a it’s been though court

So — in summer 2019, Unbound couldn’t afford to market my book. But they could afford to donate to Matt Hancock’s leadership campaign*. Got it.
