Criminal Code is also good (about latam). The Mechanism is ok also. But those are loosely based on reality so maybe it's cheating.

28.08.2025 22:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Usually original writing builds on common-held symbols, stories, metaphors, characters, but then takes them in new directions, situations, contexts. If chat gpt is maximizing for the "most likely" next word in a sentence, it's also maximizing a bit for the "least original" next word in a sentence.
12.08.2025 09:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So AI is bad at writing comedy because it looks for the "most likely" ending of a sentence which is also usually going to be the "most expected/least funny" ending of a sentence. I think maybe that can also explain partially why it's not great at original writing.
12.08.2025 09:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The other day I asked Chat GPT why it was so bad at writing comedy. It answered that because the model is trained to find the "most likely" next word in a string of text. In contrast, comedy writing usually builds up in one direction, and then takes an unexpected turn to provide surprise/laughs.
12.08.2025 09:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Since that's what AI currently seems to be the best at.
12.08.2025 09:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So much writing in the real world is about jumping through hoops. I've recently been on a job search, and it is amazing how much time you can lose on cover letters, statements of purpose and other nonsense. I really hope the existence of AI can reduce the existence of bullshit-writing requirements.
12.08.2025 09:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That also explains why they wanted to remove access to 4o (4o is more expensive on inference for them is my guess).
12.08.2025 09:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, as far as I can tell it helps them reduce cost by taking model selection out of the user's hands and having gpt 5 itself "decide" how much compute to spend on answering a Q. That and changes to the API pricing are the biggest factors IMO. Seems more of a product update than capacity update.
12.08.2025 09:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Gross haha. So clearly the increase of sushi consumption in the US has led to the decline in democratization.
27.07.2025 11:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But yeah, modernization never could explain chile and argentina in the 60s-70s. So idk why anyone would dig it up now haha
27.07.2025 11:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Over the years I have become so much less trusting of democratic indexes also. That flat line for China misses a lot. Civil society/property rights today are different than they were under Mao.
27.07.2025 11:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Drinking ice-cold water or tea also helps. Dehumidifiers also help a lot because humidity makes the heat worse.

07.02.2025 12:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0It's such fake news that Python "has a shorter learning curve" than R. IMO R is much more polished and Python is way more hacky. But Python is integration king. So.. here we are.
