Today, ZEP member Northern Lights JV reported its first CO₂ injection into the Aurora reservoir, 2,600m beneath the Norwegian North Sea seabed. CO₂ was transported via a 100-km pipeline from Øygarden.

We’re delighted to welcome Carbon Gap to the #ZEPlatform, bringing their expertise in permanent #CDR to help Europe reach #NetZero by 2050.

The European Commission has just proposed a legally binding target to cut the EU’s net greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040 compared to 1990 levels.

Last week at the Projects Network (PN), we visited the Ravenna CCS project by Eni and Snam. According to the PN co-chair, "With the large storage capacity of the offshore reservoir and its logistic opportunities, Ravenna can become the largest Mediterranean CCS hub".

Zep member Eni and the UK Government have reached financial close on the Liverpool Bay Carbon CCS project.

As part of the HyNet industrial cluster, it will capture, transport, and store up to 4.5M tonnes of CO₂ yearly, with plans to scale to 10M in the 2030s.
