Fuel supply is easily stocked for 18 months or more.
Ps: We can also mine uranium if we needed/wanted
Thorium in the future.
All good.
What is theoretical is nice, is it upcycle or down cycle.
Is there a law enforcing it, how much will be returned in Practical terms.
This has to be answered to.
It's getting really old.

Tweet by Robert B. Hayes, PhD, CHP, PE: "The half-life of Uranium is the age of the earth, the half-life of Thorium is the age of the universe, both are more abundant than tin." He includes a "change my mind" meme saying "There is no scientific definition of renewable energy that does not include fission, that stuff will literally outlast the sun".
I've said it many times and will repeat again: the term "renewables" was specifically designed to exclude nuclear energy. @EUCommission made a fundamental mistake to go on this bandwagon and put "renewables" in concrete, so you get stupid stuff like the [β¦]

MAJOR WIN FOR CLIMATE ACTION!
We've halted the demolition of Tihange's cooling towers!
Why it matters:
β
Prevents irreversible destruction of billions in clean energy infrastructure
β
Keeps the door open for restarting Tihange 1 & 2
β
Protects Belgium's energy security & climate goals
33 countries are on board to triple nuclear energy by 20250, and the IAEA is leading the charge with new partnerships across major financial institutions. Money is flowing to support the next generation of nuclear power plants. A truly global effort is ushering in a sustainable future.

Silly disinformation.
09.02.2026 22:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Another piece by the very negative Barnard about nuclear, what a surprise.
His piece about SMR's wasn't good either.
Seem Clean-Technica is bit of a place for anti-nuclear sentiments
We also can build more reactors for district heating or production of hydrogen used in industrial processes and towards fertilizer production.
09.02.2026 14:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes we can do better and we must.
So we need to invest into a broader uranium trading system.
And on a expanded control and production of fuel elements fir all types of reactors.
Replacing all our dependency from fossil powers.
Not citing that Kazachstan is diverting more and more of this.
That ever ton of uranium diverts millions of tons of procured gas or coal.
We still import many ships with lng from Russia.
France is the largest net-exporter of electricity, reducing our dependence if fossil fuels.

And Canada is going refurbish many more reactors, giving them atleast 30 years more of prucinh clean energy.
Yes completely agree, but why isn't he.
Is it because he is part of the same group that is anti-nuclear.
HΓ© even puts mark rufaelo as quoted on his book.
Is that a science credit?
I wouldn't want to read a book by MZJ about solutions.
HΓ© really doesn't deserve any credit.
I find him a psuedo scientist on this.
He is such a discredit to climate progress.
Yet a certain bubble, almost no scientist, keeps lifting him up for there biased missions.
If you think there are sides in science, this confirms your bias!

There is a manual*, because there is also the multi-year large maintenance period.
This is about the same, plus upgrading systems and materials.
For life cycle extension and sometimes output increase.
Belgian PM Bart De Wever admits:
We made dogmatic choices against nuclear energy, which was the stupidity of the century.
As for the "irreversibility" of this phaseout: in all cases itβs easier, cheaper and faster to refurb a partially dismantled unit [β¦]
