Yesterday's global #parkrun attendance was the highest ever seen in the second half of the year (and the 16th highest ever).

There were new national records for Singapore (yesterday was Singapore National Day, which is usually an extra, non-Saturday parkrunday), Finland and Germany.

Global #parkrun attendance remains low compared to the start of the year (following the usual annual trend), however yesterday saw >300k finishers on a Sat in July for the first time ever. parkrun Canada set a new national record, 4 days after their extra parkrunday on Canada Day.

Yesterday saw a new record global #parkrun attendance record for June and a new national record for Canada, both for the second Saturday running. There was also a new Saturday record for Denmark, on the eve of the Bridge Run 2025 half marathon over the Øresund/Öresund Bridge.

Thanks to Ascension Day and Thanksgiving always falling on the same weekday, Thursday is the most common Additional parkrunday*, yet has the fewest participants. That will all change this Christmas! 2/3

Yesterday saw new national attendance records for #parkrun Germany (for the second week in a row) and #parkrun Italy (for the first time since Oct 2023).

10 of the 20 currently active parkrun countries have set a new Saturday record in April or May this year.

Why is it so hard for companies to check how their customers would actually like to be to be addressed, rather than assuming $FIRSTNAME from official ID? Being constantly called by the 'wrong' name in apps, emails, texts and by agents does *not* make me feel at all valued. 😡

Last weekend saw a new national attendance record for parkrun Germany, as well as the highest turnout ever seen on a Saturday in Denmark.

It was Bushy Park Time Trial's 2nd birthday - no other events had been launched yet!

The recent record #parkrun attendances haven't purely been down to the rise in the number of active events - the number of participants per event has also been growing following a noticeable post-COVID drop.

Over 229,000 of these finishers were in the UK proper, meaning 1 person in every 300 completed a parkrun on Saturday morning (based on ONS 2023 mid-year population estimate).

It was also the 2nd highest for the UK, following last Saturday's new record, and with another 6,939 finishers on the first Special Day of the year on Sunday (for Freedom Day in South Africa), April was the 6th busiest month of all time, with easily the highest average Saturday turnout to date. 2/2
