My wife has a bad habit of leaving my wooden spoons on top of the hot stove. I make these things as good as I can... but they aren't fireproof.

I've long been obsessed with government documents. What do they communicate and to whom, how and when and by whom were they printed and circulated? The @jcblibrary.bsky.social has a terrific collection of the many printed journals of Congress, fr 1774. Started a weekly series on IG to discuss. ๐ค

Swear me in NOW! @SpeakerJohnson !" followed by a reply from @GavinNewsom , Gavin Newsom, saying, "It's not even November and the GOP are already rigging elections." Below, a news headline from McClatchy by Nikki McCann Ramirez dated September 30, 2025, reads, "DEM SAYS MIKE JOHNSON IS DELAYING HER SWEARING-IN TO PREVENT EPSTEIN VOTE," with a photo of Adelita Grijalva smiling at an event in Tucson, Arizona, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

07.10.2025 20:30 โ ๐ 8467 ๐ 3078 ๐ฌ 249 ๐ 91It's the final post for National MEDIEVAL Vegetarian Week: Chickpea Broth from Cuoco Napoletano (Italian, C15th).
Soak dried chickpeas. Put them in a pan with some flour, oil, salt, crushed peppercorns, ground cinnamon, and some of the water from the soaked chickpeas. /1
/2. Boil everything until the chickpeas start to break down, add more water if needed. Add rosemary, sage, parsley and a little garlic. You can make this with tinned chickpeas too. Itโs simple but the herbs, spices and garlic prevent it from being bland and it tastes much richer than you expect.
07.10.2025 18:10 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0/3. I hope you enjoyed the week of medieval vegetarian food as much as I did. I'm away to Germany tomorrow and then Czechia for a historical cookery course in an 18th-century castle (follow jennie.hood.142 on Threads or IG for details of that) but I'll be back with more medieval cookery soon. ๐ฅ

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social needs to come out and say this is an Epstein Shutdown cuz Republicans are stalling because they don't want to swear in Adelita Grijalva because then they will need to release the Epstein Files.

My owner says she works a lot and is tired. She should stay home with me and sleep. It's really good to take a nap during the day. But she's always going somewhere. So what's she complaining about? I'd be tired too if I were always going somewhere during the day.๐โโฌ

A range of fungi seen on our walk today included these white, distinctively shaped ones which had conical tops. We believe they may be Rhodocollybia butyracea, commonly known as the Buttery collybia.
A range of fungi seen on our amble today in the woodland. We believe these white spotted, red ones are Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) which is a fairly recognisable species. They are growing among the leaf litter of the woodland floor.

Yet, if we fail to pause and return to our breathing and be in the present moment, we will miss our appointment with Life. ๐
