the doctors and nurses at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville who took such good care of me; my sister, who I can always depend on even when she can’t come see me because she has Covid; and all the wonderful folks in my life who’ve rallied around me. I’m really grateful!

Also, thank you to a whole bunch of people who’ve shown support to me over this whirlwind few days: @TheLuckyTrickX took me to the ER, sat with me and kept me distracted through the pain, and also brought me home; all the members of my leather club who’ve messaged me and kept me entertained;

Eighteen hours after the onset of symptoms, I woke up in recovery. They said my gall bladder was full of stones and was very inflamed.

Point of this being: listen to what your body is telling you and don’t stubbornly try to grit your teeth and bear it.

After four hours, it hadn’t let up at all so I went to the emergency room. A few hours and some tests later, they let me know that they were admitting me and scheduling me for surgery the next morning. Apparently my gall bladder was ready to go.

Last Sunday I started experiencing some intense nausea and abdominal pain. I figured it was related to eating spicy food and overeating as well as drinking from an event I’d been to with my leather club, so I settled down to wait it out.
