Dutch engineers localised Morse code for 48 katakana symbols. Danes played a role developing the first version of CTC (Chinese Telegraph Codes).

It is interesting how Japanese and Chinese encoding systems were initially developed by western individuals. Chinese by the Danes, Japanese by the Dutch.

I will be sharing updates about our building process as well as my first voyage in the world of #hardware and #art 😀 Here's a glimpse!

I joined #37C3, #38C3 and I am joining #39C3 this month. But this year is different since I am on a team of a digital artist. Our installation is about language and encoding systems, alphabetic proxies and stroke-based inputs. Our goal is to spotlight certain ideas with electronics and software.

We may soon have access to all kinds of well-made interoperable or perhaps distributed technology. Even though centralised messaging thrives today and running linux on certain hardware simply sucks.

Making anything interoperable, e.g. an instant messaging server or a linux distribution, takes a team x10, x100 efforts compared to a normal use case. This is why XMPP failed 😂

This pushes me towards a positive thinking model that AI might solve this in future.
