Yes, luckily he got over it and then we just acted like nothing happened lol There are some complicated family dynamics—my mom is from a family of 14, which not surprising led to some not having healthy interpersonal skills. There are other estrangements that have gone on for decades though 🤦🏻‍♀️

For sure—my uncle didn’t speak to my mom for two years because she had the gall to ask him to put his two Australian shepherds up when my young nephews were there because the dogs would herd them and nip at them. To him she was questioning his control over his dogs—it is their instinct! So dumb.

I’m the same way with dogs. I’m sure to a dog person they feel like open books, but not having grown up with them, I don’t speak dog. It’s still weird to me that they don’t purr when you pet them lol
