RANDOMLY-GENERATED THOUGHTS ON A.I.: THE TRUE POTENTIAL PERILS AND BENEFITS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. So, a while ago I watched one of those "30 for 30"'s on ESPN. I watch those sometimes, they're usually good. I don't watch all of them or an...

We climbed through the canopy
Only to find a crack in our gauge
The last thing, a look you gave
And then we tumbled out of control
I tried to strike a deal with the universe
Me and my deals with the universe

Smacked upside the head
Wish the harsh of daylight
So simple last evening....

Never was a cornflake girl
Thought it was a good solution
Hanging with the raisin girls
She's gone to the other side
Giving us the yo heave ho
Things are getting kind of gross
And I go at sleepy time

This is not really
This, this, this is not really happening....

Someone's knockin' on my kitchen door
Leave the wood outside what
All the girls here are freezing cold
Leave me with your Borneo
I said I don't need much to keep me warm
Don't stop now what you're doing
What you're doing my ugly one
Bring them all here
Hard to hide a hundred girls in your hair....

The Stranger

Music friends help me, BILLY JOEL's "THE STRANGER" album, if you take all the songs and rank them best-to-worst, where do you rank "VIENNA"?

I love it but I'd put it like 6th or 7th, but apparently it's a favorite among millennials now and I'm perplexed by that.

I've been on the other side
Got my lips smacked, now they're dry
Then you call me, call me in
You think I am your possession
You're messing with a southern girl
But my recipe is on with your
Stale bread, yeah it's hot
But, baby, I don't need your cash
So, baby, maybe I let your....

Heard from the TV
Of the latest bombing
The girls were dancing
She was coming of age

Shells fired out
Flowers mowed down
Innocence targeted
Whose God is this?
Wish that she had one more day

There at the seaside
5th of December
We chased the tide
As her treasures
Were gathered
I had to laugh....

Their cover of "There She Goes" was pretty big. I think of them as a two-hit wonder.

My big issue with "Avatar" was that it was so simple as well. Like, you spend all this time creating this world, whatever you think of it, and then by the end, it looks like an action sequence from "True Lies". And "Avatar 2" was the same but worst but it ended with an action scene from "Ttanic"

It was interesting, better than most horror series that insist on having a narrative. It's one of those handful of shows that only lasted one season but got a Drama Series Emmy nomination anyway, but I haven't thought about it since. Horror doesn't work as a long-form narrative, period.

Some boy you are
To take me by the hand
Through an elevator
Gotta a little red light
That tells you, boy
Where the razor's been

You said, girl if you think
You can turn that violator
You'll finally be that woman, yes
Finally be that woman
That's been frozen in the pretty silver girl
Yes....

Devils and gods, now that's an idea
But if we believe that it's they who decide
That's the ultimate detractor of crimes
'Cause devils and gods
They are you and I
Devils and gods
They are you and I
Devils and gods
Safe and inside

Father, I killed my monkey
I let it out to taste the sweet of spring
Wonder if I will wander out
Test my tether to see if I'm still free from you

Steady as it comes right down to you
I've said it all
So maybe we're a bliss of another kid
I said, a bliss of another kind, I said....

Anyway, yeah, every time I watch "Iron Chef", I end up trying to figure out the Japanese political scene, until I eventually get lost somewhere trying to fully decipher it. It's fascinating though.

The structure I think helps creates this, with the parallel voting systems in the diet for instance, there's more counselors and representatives, having proportional voting helps in this, so there are members, the elections are staggered so your not just voting for everything every couple years.

27.08.2025 02:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's fascinating, the Japanese governing structure itself, like, on the surface it's similar to ours, but the more you dive in, the more complex it gets. Like parties there, are very much just predominantly political and not, so much, a personal defying feature of the politicians.

27.08.2025 02:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I'd still be more of a CDP or CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY member, Japan's top center-left party, and the LDP's biggest competitor ATM, and the LDP despite would still be more of a Moderate party if it were here. And factions for both parties split off often, recently, it's just different there.

27.08.2025 02:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They're not doing particularly well now, but from an American point-of-view, where it's fascinating to see a conservative catch-all party, that's remained in power, and you know, from a relatively outside perspective, seems like they've moved their country pretty far during their reign.

27.08.2025 02:56 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The LDP's history is pretty elaborate, and it's not doing great now, but it's a party that includes, people from the center-left, all the way to the far right-wing. This had led to conflicts, corruptions, scandals and many attempts by former members to form new parties, some, Kurimoto was part of.

27.08.2025 02:55 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

(Then you look up how their lawbooks and see how the simplest petty theft can be years in prison and then you realize okay, they may not be completely ahead of us, but I digress.)

27.08.2025 02:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

For the most part, the political scene in Japan, for good and bad, runs through this party. And if you see those TikToks, or YT videos about how things in Japan are different and usually better than here, you'd realize that they're probably much more ahead of us than we actually realize they are.

27.08.2025 02:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

He was also apart of the LDP, or LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY, which is a misnomer because that's actually the CONSERVATIVE party in Japan, which is also a bit of a misnomer because this is a BIG TENT CONSERVATIVE Party, and it's been the leading and controlling party in Japan for about 70 years now.

27.08.2025 02:51 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Let me explain, one of the most common judges/tasters on the original "Iron Chef", is a guy named SHINICHIRO KURIMOTO, who's usually described as a Current/Former Lower House Member, depending on when the show aired, and if you ever look him up, he is a really fascinating guy.

You know, I've been re-watching some old "IRON CHEF" reruns, the original JAPANESE episodes, from the good old days. FilmRise put all the dubbed episodes on their Youtube channel if anyone's interested, and every time I do, I end up wanting to learn more about JAPANESE POLITICS.
