It was a thinned down acrylic. Lots and lots of layers…
Cheers!
Dirtied up my Stuarts and M16 a bit. Only about a week left for Adepticon prep!
I do have a rock but I left it grey like granite on a beach shore. (I need to repaint the sand. It was too brown/tan and not peachy enough to match the mat.)
Makes sense. As sandstone breaks down the red and tan colors mix to give you peach. I’ve just never really thought about it in detail when doing bases before and just when for a yellowish color do desert bases.
Trying to color match this mat. This is what these gaming mat companies need to do - tell us what paints to use to match their mats.
I think these colors will work. I’ll see how it actually looks on terrain though. It’s odd because the close match that I think I found is a peachy flesh color.
Finished painting up the display board last night. It’s a shame these buildings aren’t full buildings. I like the way they turned out and I think they would have made good terrain.
Completely understandable! Hopefully something good is planned.
Cheers! We were sad to hear you wouldn’t be making it out. Planning on being back next year?
Cheers! After a targeted wash and some more detailing tonight I’m gonna try to set everything on the board to see how it looks.
Doubles display board is coming along. Hopefully I’ll have the painting part finished tonight. Then if I have time I’ll add some tufts.
Thinking about selling all my Star Wars Legion stuff. Bought it all a couple of years ago with grand aspirations and it never materialized. Might as well recoup some of the money and get stuff I have a chance of playing.
It’s and Ender 3 v2. It’s not super fancy with every bell and whistle but it does what I need it to.
Forgot that my printer has auto resume after a power interruption. There’s a small blemish where it restarted but hey, the print is saved!
I feel like I am all over the place right now with so many projects coming to a head before Adepticon.
Here’s my Combat Patrol display board after filler was added and I put sand on top. Went with a really fine sand to mimic the beach.
Ah. Missed that. I retract my condolences.
Congratulations on the omelet!
This sounds oddly specific. I’m sorry about your omelette.
Oh good. 20 hours into a print and we lose power on a beautiful sunny day…
I have some paints arriving today. All contrast style.
Sorry to hear man. I know we haven’t gotten together in a while but if you want to get a game of something in at some point let me know - you may have to reteach me though since I’ve really only been doing historicals lately.
Well I built his stuff. 500 points of 10 Mountain Division with custom packs and Jeep caps. Probably took more time than I should have - I cleaned up some of the bigger mold lines. Now I need to paint it. Currently in the queue to happen next weekend.
Doin okay buddy?
We’re still doing this on Blue Sky where we’re change our noes to show we’re going to events right?
Thanks. For this one I rolled out clay and made the roads with the Green Stuff World Flagstone roller. It’s not possible to cover the entire thing with one piece so I glued them in a somewhat random pattern. The filler is a mix of drywall filler, PVA glue, coarse grit, and water.
Not really the best photo but I added roads and filler to the display board. I’ll probably do some more filler tonight around the buildings (and maybe stairs to the door on the house on the left) and then it should be ready for painting!
Thanks. Takes a little while but I’m trying for best painted again. Best to set goals really high when crunched for time, right?
They brought back the mechanic. There’s no way this could cause issues…
Added decals to my Free French armored units. Thanks to @givenaaron.bsky.social for the halftrack decals (Im partial to having the stars on the front louvers). The Free French flags and names are from District Miniatures. I have a few other things to take care of and then it will be onto weathering!
Oh, 100%.
