Hmm... I think you can get out of the grab IF you have grenades or one-time-use knives in your inventory. But you still have to press some buttons for it to work (?) I don't really remember.

Well, knife as a separate weapon was in the remake (?) of RE1 in 2014, maybe they took it from there? I didn't play original RE3 unfortunately, maybe it was there too. And yes! Dodge is really cool thing here, but because of it RE3 feels more like shooter for me.

Unfortunately, the RE3 remake... isn't as good as the RE2 or RE4 remakes imho, but I hope you still enjoy it.
