14: the government is not and never should be a for profit entity. Our current structure has the responsibility of guiding the market. Being for profit and the guide is market manipulation.

13: the level of American consumption should be addressed. Reused products should be promoted. Building materials and textiles could be refurbished and repurposed to reduce waste and promote jobs.

12: Natural resources belong to the people; not private companies or the government. Extraction of natural resources should pay citizens a dividend.

11: The health of the country should not be measured by the stock market, GDP, or the national debt; but by the level of poverty, education, and health.

10: Congress should be barred from voting on their own raise. Congressional pay should be voted on by their constituents.

Anyone else read this memo from the DOJ? I’m stuck on section II, paragraph 2. It may just be the punctuation but that Oxford coma seems to isolate that last point.

9: Elected officials should be held accountable for speaking or promoting misinformation, whether it is on TV, while campaigning, or on the floor of congress. Consequences should include censure and/or removal.

8: Death penalty should be abolished.

7: Background checks on presidential appointees should follow a set protocol. The president and others should not be able to reduce the scope of background checks.

I don’t know if this would help but… how would you teach someone math? I had several students that struggled. It became clearer once they looked at it from that perspective.

6: Police reform. Police should be required to have a bachelor degree in a related field such as criminal justice. Qualified immunity should be abolished. Basic interactions with the public (ie traffic stops, wellness checks) should be standardized. They should patrol neighborhoods equally.

5: Schools should be funded sufficiently so that they would provide breakfast and lunch, as well as needed supplies (pencils, paper, etc.). School fundraisers should end as schools should be well funded. Education should be viewed as an investment in the community.

4: The USA should maintain its statement in the Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11 that it is a secular country. Religion should be removed from all government. Those that practice a religion/faith are free to practice and belief without government interference or their interference in government.

3: The constitution should be amended to eliminate slavery completely, no exceptions. Those in jails or prisons, that are able and willing to work, should receive a wage at or above minimum wage.

2: Jails and prisons should not be for profit. The majority of them should be set up for rehabilitation. Thoughtless incarceration should only be for the harden offenders.
