this is why checking refrences can be such a pain in the ass, since things like APA7 requires you to state the page number in a book but dont do the same for websites, youre just expected to state when you collected the information and a link to the page.

A 'document' actually only refers to a single unit of information. A book is a document, so is a blog post, a single text message and even the nutritional facts on the back of a can of beans is legally considered a document.
