Reserva logo stomped onto a snow-covered pond.

☃️While the rest of the world was watching the inauguration last Monday, I took a #snowday off with another @reservaylt.bsky.social board member and actually managed to just have fun out in #nature. Here's your reminder to step outside with friends if you get stuck in a news spiral. ♥️

IPBES report sees climate, nature and food challenges interlinked A new approach is needed to tackle the interlinked crises afflicting the planet, scientists warn.

Another major report shows how climate instability, declining nature, and food insecurity are linked.

Wake up time was some time ago. It’s time to get to work.

As part of #FriendsofAldabra, we're calling for a halt to construction on Assomption. We don't need another #Chevalblanc disaster. Responsible development and tourism is possible; this just isn't it. 4/4

An airstrip was already built to bring in luxury jets. The development will impact sea turtles and #gianttortoises on Assomption, but most critically, it will threaten ecological integrity of #Aldabra, likely the most pristine island left on 🌍 with no ability to enforce biosafety precautions. 3/4

Having an @ipbes.bsky.social Plenary session in Namibia is a pretty big deal!

Assessments will be stronger if more science emerges from Africa, particularly with more African scientists leading the research. Anyone who has attended COPs/Plenaries knows location is more than symbolic.

@projectdrawdown.bsky.social @globalecoguy.bsky.social would love to see a new synthesized list of solutions to both biodiversity and climate crises, w/ co-benefits taken into account of climate solutions taken into account for combatting #biodiversityloss. 🦜🐠🦐🐢

Possible?

When @ipbes.bsky.social listed climate change as one of the top five drivers of biodiversity loss, this is why. These are intertwined crises, and we *have* to solve them both.

We all have that one friend who finds out about THE climate solution. Regen grazing, planting trees, going vegan, nuclear energy... there is no ONE solution, but there are priorities. @projectdrawdown.bsky.social is great for understanding how we should prioritize the MANY solutions we need to use.
