It’s a movie you kinda need to think about in order to fully appreciate - on the surface it appears to be straight forward but it’s very much about the expectations of women and mothers vs the brutish anger of men…like the men in the film can be wild and free but she can’t

imo it’s about the overbearing nature of her husband (the patriarchy) wanting to control her and often yelling at her/hitting her until she totally loses her personality at the end and then he’s distraught because she’s no longer ‘herself’
