We can have green energy without destroying our precious peat wildlife habitats. Locally generated renewable energy, rooftop solar on housing and industrial estates and smaller turbines along motorways would work. Although there are no hefty profits in that approach.

Visited the Senedd today to talk to ministers and their teams about the impact 21 huge turbines will have on our natural peat uplands and their wildlife. Our peregrines, white tailed eagles, hen harriers and many many others will be gone for good. Spot the red car at the base of the model for scale

Mynydd Maen Action Group is visiting the Senedd tomorrow to talk to ministers about the impact on nature that peat removal will have on our mountain. We are automatically accused of being anti-renewables if we object. But we don't need to destroy nature to produce green energy. www.mynydd-maen.co.uk

It's madness to pitch the climate emergency against the nature emergency, ripping up acres of peat moorland habitat for huge energy plants. There shouldn't be a clash between the nature emergency and the climate emergency. My local peat uplands are home to peregrines, white tailed eagles and many more protected species. Please help to convince Welsh Government to find sustainable ways of generating green energy. www.mynydd-maen.co.uk
