I haven't been able to draw much on my iPad because of work, but I always carry this small sketchbook with an ink marker everywhere I go. I try to sketch anything I find interesting when I get small breaks.

I can’t get used to using a method like loomis, or others used for faces, the result, I struggle with keeping the proportions between key elements like eyes, nose and mouth, still I enjoy learning this way

Better proportions, still need to work on synthesizing detail in smaller scales. Loved the nose shape!

Now that I look at it a while after finishing, the eyes are more separated than they should’ve. I liked how I drew the hat and the contrast with the hair

I need to find a better technique for the light shading, time to experiment with the brush setting. I liked a lot the hair shapes here

More of my portrait practice! Felt a bit disconnected, but a little friend encouraged me a lot to keep going. Gotta be a good example for any artist struggling too out there!

The second try gave tons of hope, it looks majestic next to the first one, still, there’s a long way to go

I’m having fun experimenting with ways to draw hair

This was another warmup, I still find it hard to translate traditional skills to digital, at least in portraits, I have waaaay more control with a mechanical pen and paper, I’ll need more practice

On a not Pokemon related note, I used to love drawing portraits a few years ago, but stopped at some point.
This is me trying to get into it again, it has not been easy, but I like to think one day I’ll get back my old skills and get to improve even more.
