I was glad for the opportunity to meet Bryan Hambley, in Stow yesterday. I enjoyed hearing how he related his experience as a leukemia doctor to being the state's top elections official. Always happy to see more folks from the sciences take an interest in running for office! 🤓

Tonight Stow City Council approved a site plan for Vans Pizza to revitalize our old Sto-Kent Lanes with a new restaurant and bar, arcade, mini bowling lanes, and renovations to the mini-golf course and sand volleyball pit.

If “Pro-Democracy” means “Anti-Fascist” then a lot of us could be in trouble…

Maybe I’m biased, but it used to feel like it would matter if the international community — especially close allies like the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia — asked us to “please stop aiding ethnic cleansing.”

WE NEED TO LEARN FROM HISTORY. On May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard OPENED FIRE ON STUDENTS at Kent State University, killing 4 and wounding 9. Our National Guardsmen signed up to help civilians, not to be pitted against fellow Ohioans based on political pretexts.

Good advice for today. Be mindful who profits from pitting Americans against each other. And be mindful who is trying to keep our states united.

A tragic consequence of political violence is that the rush to assign blame and scapegoat groups of people can radicalize individuals to threaten further violence. Instead of dehumanizing people, we all have a responsibility to condemn violence no matter who it is by or against.
