It is with deep regret that I learned that after sixteen consecutive years, the mandate to design the Bédélys Awards trophies will not be renewed, for purely financial reasons.
Over the years, I have been very honored to be entrusted with this role.
Once again, I had fun putting together a little homage to Doom, as if I were kitbashing a game mod from scraps of 90s FPS classics like Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Heretic, Blood and Quake.

It was easier, especially because it started snowing early in the winter, unlike last winter when I had to do it more quickly because spring was approaching since the snow had fallen late.

This year, the weather conditions were favorable for building a fort. In mid-January, we had a few days of thaw with rain, which damaged the fort. Fortunately, I was able to rebuild on the remaining enormous block of ice.

This morning I took advantage of the freezing temperatures to reinforce and refinish the stair treads using wet, compacted snow. I also added a few blocks to the walls.

This morning, I went back to work on my snow fort, continuing to raise the walls and raising the floor level by one more step. The fort is now higher than last year’s.
I thought it would be interesting to integrate mimics into a game like Doom. Mimics are considered regular objects until they activate under specific conditions. They would be placed randomly in the levels, along with other objects, so the player never knows what to expect.
