Snider students, join us for a conversation with #SniderHockey & Education alumni about their paths after high school! With a variety of postsecondary pathways represented, students will hear firsthand how to prepare for life plans that align with their goals.

On Thursday, the Scanlon 18U team created special Valentine's Day friendship cards to share with Blessings in a Backpack. These note cards will be included in meal packs, which are distributed on a weekly basis to school-aged children in Philadelphia experiencing hunger.

Two of our 18U SHL teams participated in service events this week:

On Monday, the Sims 18U team created snack bags and caring cards for Caring for Friends. The team created 120 snack bags and supportive letters to be redistributed to neighbors across Philadelphia who are experiencing hunger.

PROGRAMMING UPDATE: All after school programming at Simons has been cancelled through Sunday (2/13 - 2/15). SHL games scheduled to take place at Simons have been moved to Tarken.

Following the reading, the 19U students paired up with their 8U mentees, built friendship bracelets, and discussed the importance of friendship and respect for female athletes. Thank you to our 19U students for your leadership, and to our 8U girls for participating in this special event.

On Sunday, the #SniderHockey & Education Girls 19U travel team hosted a unique mentorship event for some of our youngest Snider students! The 19U team welcomed 6 girls from our introductory and 8U programs for a special read-aloud of "The Girls," a book about the importance of female friendship.

Snider is headed to the Women's Frozen Four!

Snider girls currently in grades 9-11 can apply to visit State College to see the semi-finals and national championship games. Along with all of the action on the ice, we will be visiting Dickinson College, Penn State University, and Wilkes University!

On Saturday, the Tarken 18U SHL team volunteered their morning with Cradles to Crayons. Our student-athletes helped sort through bins of clothing donations to help the organization redistribute to neighbors across Philadelphia experiencing clothing insecurity. Thank you for your hard work!

Additionally, Savannah Norcross of the New York Sirens and Nichelle Simon, a former pro in the PHF, took part in a Women in Hockey panel on Tuesday, where they discussed the changing landscape of women's hockey.

To celebrate #NGWSD, guest coaches from Arcadia University, University of Delaware and Neumann University joined our student-athletes for skills sessions last night at Penn! Our students had a great time learning from your perspective!
