YEEEEEEEES
BREAKING: The House passed the so-called SAVE America Act which threatens to upend our freedom to vote.
The bill could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters by requiring documents like passports or birth certificates to register to vote and forcing voter roll purges. The Senate must reject it.
Standing up against these laws, both in the USA and numerous other nations, is integral for a whole host of issues
Gaza? Minnesota? Venezuela? If these and more matter to you, then you need to get active because these laws will handicap any online organizing for MANY causes
And he doubled down. Every single time this administration deflects, force them back into the conversation. I swear the moment Bondi started talking about the DOW those in attendance should've instantly told her to shut up. Play their game and see them crumble under pressure.
where crews reportedly hated the engine. There are also notes of steaming issues, which probably came from such a restricted grate area. In 1916 it was transferred back to Rimutaka, but it only ran 23 days that year. By mid 1917, the engine had been withdrawn and dismantled.
notably it's compounding system from a failed experiment with N Class 127. Performance wise, E66 was rather successful, reportedly hauling 103 tons over the incline. It was very costly to operate, being a notable coal hog. In 1909 it was transferred to a different grade,
To remedy this, they decided to construct this engine, a Mallet with the rather rare application of a modified Launch-type boiler, necessitated as this locomotive was designed to operate at 200 psi. The reason? It was a Vauclain compound! The engine made use of some surplus parts,
Here's this thing. This is NZR E66, a one-of-one 2-6-6-0 Mallet that was built in 1906 for service on the Rimutaka Incline. Traffic over the incline was increasing in the late 1890s and the Fell-type H Class were beginning to struggle, along with the WEs that had been built from three Class Bs.
YOOOO THAT'S SICK
Archie Sonic and Mega Man are among my favorites
Big time flu on my end. Never would've thought I'd get both type A and B at the same time, yet here I am. Anyone got some good documentaries to recommend, seeing as I'll be out of action for the next few days.
Most were built from 1910 to 1913, with two final batches in 1917 and 1920. The 1920 batch was the longest lived, with some members making it into the 1950s, along with a few NE-2ds, but most of these monsters were scrapped in the mid 30s, probably due to the advent of the Berkshires and Mohawks.
Yes, the NYC had mallets, several in fact! This one here is 1936, a 2-6-6-2 NE-2d. The NYC had a fleet of these massive mallets, some on the B&A, that were used on drags in the Berkshires, with the others on the Pennsy Division or in Minerva, mostly being used on coal drags.
This will rival the winter storm that crippled Texas in 2021 and it will be more widespread. Don't be scared, be prepared. Regularly scheduled train posting will hopefully return soon, still getting back into the swing of things when it comes to school.
Not been super active, apologies about that, but there's a brutal winter storm on the way with many regions expecting sub zero temps. Keep warm, if you have a generator make sure it works, and make sure you're stocked up on food because I'm unsure how the roads will be by Saturday.
It's so tiresome
FUCK ICE
PBS is still alive.
It may be down, but itβs not out.
To keep it from ever being out, donate to your local station if you can.
Youβll be able to do so here: pbs.org/donate.
It's so depressing man, like holy shit I've been nothing but miserable with all of these cuts.
Dude my joints already snap like I have arthritis (I think I have it), and I'm still young. All my friends call me Unc and I've accepted being the old man on my friend group
S o o n
Can we just have a vote of no confidence and be done with this?
It's awful. It's really starting to infest railroad videos too. Hell, the P2 Folks used an AI voice narrating the delivery of their boiler for Prince of Wales. Talk about sullying the moment
No idea. One was spotted as late as 2017 but then the trail goes cold, kinda like an actual cryptid lol. But seriously, I've got no clue.
I'm dubbing the 5 SOO SD60Ms cryptids. Why? Well, they seem to be everywhere and end up in the most interesting situations. And yes, they're triclopses because why not? Info in the alt text.
Let's hope that HCW 909 and 244 find a railway to call home again. They've been landlocked since their tourist line was ripped up after a massive washout forced the HCW to close in 2011. Shame that the coaches they came along with were all cut up.
We're either gonna be 75 by the time it's out or our great great grandchildren are going to play it. No in-between
BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH
The 0.7 is being generous.
There are certain railway things I will never understand and one of them is WHY THE LBSCR HAD 50 BAJILLION DIFFERENT HEADCODES
Here's a link to a site showing the headcodes they used in 1881: sremg.org.uk/headcodes/sh...
AMEN
