I think there are wild swings in skillsets between the players we brought in and the ones we already had.

It still feels like having Havertz and Ødegaard fit for the whole run in is key to getting something from the running man/take more shots players we brought in this summer

Is it not more that we simply haven’t had some of our best attacking players available (consistently or at all) most of this season?

Havertz is key but has not been available all season but for a few games (in which he seems to unlock others). Ødegaard has had another injury interrupted season

Or it’s a sign that we had an unlucky patch that is unlikely to continue.

I think everything points to our “bad patch” having come and gone without us losing ground really

These Epstein files really show how pathetic so many people in those emails are. All the money and influence in the world and they’re in those emails begging and sucking up to some dude for the chance to rape young girls. The world is ran by the biggest fucking losers.

Looks like Villa’s drop off has started…

Villa are away at Newcastle in their next game after today.

They will drop the points their over performance of their underlying metrics suggests soon enough

I think there are a fair few people who have never experienced us winning the league who might be saying A right now, but if we got both over the line would be celebrating both and would be disappointed if we didn’t win the League cup.

If they don’t then maybe they’re just a bit miserable? 🤷‍♂️

B, definitely.

You don’t celebrate the league any more because of the points you get, but you will definitely celebrate winning both trophies

Yeah, I’m frustrated we didn’t inflict maximum damage too.

I do think if we can win our next couple that City will drop some more points. They’ve looked so defeated against Brighton and United

Is it a massive blow though? We gained a point on them, we were only 2 ahead at the start of the Christmas run and now it’s 7

They have to go to Anfield soon

I get the 20+ year wait makes it anxious, but this was never easy and we have a 7 point lead in January. Your September self would love this

Saying beating Real Madrid (twice) at the QF stage of the Champions League “not a big game” is sheer lunacy.

If that isn’t a pair of massive, humongous games then I’m not sure what is.

Me neither, I’m a Gooner too and I think all involved have done an absolutely horrible job in supporting the women and how much support they showed the accused.

But depressingly an all too common reaction.

The person saying the racist thing is more the victim for being called a racist than anyone on the end of the racist behaviour.

Just as Arsenal have shown rape and sexual abuse is also tolerated

Even if those inside the dressing room are completely happy with the apology, Chelsea have shown absolutely that racism is not a problem for them which has repercussions outside of that changing room.

It’s just another sign that dealing with racism beyond gestures is not a priority within football

Didn’t Sean Dyche implement something like this while at Burnley? Where the team defended in a block that gave teams a funnel from further out to shoot down the keeper’s throat.

If I remember correctly it meant some shots on goal but they were basically controlled and lessened the chance of goals

All politicians who gain power in recent times talk about making “tough choices” yet they all make the same choice and the toughest choice of all is taxing the rich sufficiently.

Absolutely no one seems to be able to even countenance it.

Starmer has invited Trump for a state visit, so I wouldn’t give him any credit.

He will be crawling up Trump’s ass when he comes over and not challenging him about his positions on ethnically cleansing Palestine or bullying Ukraine into a bad deal with Russia.

Is this about Arsenal’s never ending injury crisis?

It’s an old boys’ club (which is on brand for English institutions) but sets it apart from how competitive the recruitment is for players they officiate

I’m still astonished that there is not a single Prem ref from London, all white, overwhelmingly from the north east. They just recruit themselves

I like this idea, but I’m not sure it will make the VAR any more likely to go against experienced refs.

It seems like it’s a personal attack on the ref for them rather than helping get the right decision.

A captain/manager’s call would probably entrench that feeling further

The referees, especially experienced ones, seem to find the idea that VAR can overturn them offensive.

In turn, it seems those on VAR are scared to over turn the most experienced refs. It renders VAR completely pointless.
