If you can, please give and/or share, #BikeDC. There is now a ghost bike for Kenny, and he won't be forgotten.
🎉 It’s officially time for #TranspoBINGO 2026! Let's play our way through the city! 🎉
We’re playing from Feb 5–12, rewarding non-car travel—buses, Metro, biking, walking, and rolling. Take different kinds of trips, explore our city (and region!), and support public and active transportation.
May is a long way away, but—ask any #DCPol candidate—it'll be here before you know it.
Registration submitted for #BikeDC #RideOfSilence 2026. Mark your calendars for May 20 and plan to take a moment out of #BikeMonth to honor those who are no longer with us & stand for safer roads for all.
Bikemore is launching a Families for Safe Streets chapter!! We met the organizer, Amril, a few days ago after they came over to chat as soon as they saw us park our bikes :)
FSS has been so successful pushing legislation to makes streets safer. I hope ppl get involved!

Save the date! TranspoBINGO 2026 runs Feb 5-12.🚍🚲 This year's theme: Play Your Way Through the City—where curiosity sets the route, exploration earns the points, and the city itself becomes the game.🎲 A joyful reminder of what’s possible when we move through our city together. www.transpobingo.com
We join Sam, a DC hit-and-run victim, in calling on Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie to move B26-0057, the Motor Vehicle Insurance Modernization Act. It's time to update DC's 40-year-old insurance minimums.
This year's World Day of Remembrance and Ride for Your Life were inspiring and uplifting. #WDOR2025 @waba.org @safestreetsdc.bsky.social @strongtowns.org
Was good seeing so many people come out for this year's Ride For Your Life/ @safestreetsdc.bsky.social walk on the World Day of Remembrance. Very different event, but like yesterday's @ward5familybiking.bsky.social ride, a wonderful sense of community. And huge thanks to @waba.org, as always!
"Do we want our kids to be able to roam freely in our neighborhoods? Do we want to be able to walk to the market and church...? Or do we want to be entirely dependent on our cars to go everywhere?...Sarah made the right choice the day she died. I hope one day our community will catch up."
#WDoR2025
Unsafe speeds are a primary factor in about one-third of the 40,000+ traffic deaths in the U.S. each year. This morning we walked and biked to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC in honor of our loved ones affected by traffic crashes. #WDoR2025
Roughly 40,000 people are killed in traffic crashes each year, with speeding contributing to nearly a third of those fatalities.
On #WDoR2025, we remember and honor those who have lost their lives and those who have been injured, and we act to implement evidence-based solutions to end this crisis.
#WDoR2025 Hundreds of bikers and pedestrians tired of preventable traffic violence. Appreciate @vanhollen.senate.gov submitting a statement in support for the rally, and sponsoring the Sarah Debbink Langenkamp Active Safety Transportation Act!!
Gathering now at Foggy Bottom Metro station for the #WDoR2025 to walk to the Lincoln Memorial and remember those we’ve lost to traffic violence (I am remembering Dave Salovesh today).
TODAY. See you at 11am outside Foggy Bottom Metro.
Just a few days away. Join us this Sun 11/16/25 for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. 💛 Details below ⤵️
Join @safestreetsdc.bsky.social on 11/16 as we walk to remember and honor the lives lost and forever changed by traffic violence and then rally at the Lincoln Memorial with the Ride for Your Life.

We're grateful for @cmcharlesallen.bsky.social's leadership to author and pass the STEER Act and for @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social's role in addressing the most reckless drivers on DC streets. 💛
We're also looking fwd to DC and VA's implementation of anti-speeding tech (ISA) to ensure safer speeds

(6 of 6) Every crash destroys families and tears at the fabric of our communities.
Crashes are preventable. These are not "accidents” — and the problems that cause them have proven solutions. No death or life-altering injury in a traffic crash is acceptable.

Please sign a petition supporting an increase in Washington D.C.'s minimum auto insurance requirements: waba.org/action-page/raise-dc-insurance-minimums/ .
Many crash victims are unable to cover the high cost of medical care and recovery. An update is a common-sense step.
Looking for advice for a crash survivors family member re: insurance. Docs say short term acute care needed, insurance won’t cover…
