Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Mike McCormack has a short story where Ireland and Norway are at war and a character remarks that "the mere idea that Ireland and Norway could be at war would have been ridiculous a few years ago" and I think about that all the time.

This is a fabulous and really enjoyable series so far, I highly recommend listening. Some incredible women whose stories and legacies haven't been acknowledged or remembered in Ireland as they should.

And please also, AGAIN, never forget that they are inherently unethical to use because no one gave permission for their research or writing to be used in it. It is all stolen, and if you're using the plagiarism machine, please keep that in mind.

Remember how I said I have it written into my foreign-language contracts that my work has to be translated by an actual human? This shit is why.

Those book translations are gonna suck. They'll save money putting out books that are going to be painful to read. That's not a great long-term strategy.
