Was given the option last week to pick two short cleaning days at work for maintenance week or one long day of equivalent time. Picked one long cleaning day. This week me would like a word with last week me.

Went to the 🍎 store to find a fix for my ancient but much beloved little laptop. Sadly, the hard drive is kaput, but the tech is so enamored with the machines of that era that he said if I bought a replacement HD online and brought it in, he’d install it for free. 🥰

It felt unvarnished. I can see why people might be put off by some of the language and the random brutality, but it felt true to the time and place. I appreciated a look at the confederate US that wasn’t focused on glory and gun battles, but rather the lives removed and left behind.

After having it recommended to me 16 years ago, I’ve finally read Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. I can see why it won the National Book Award for Fiction.

Company was immediately responsive and are appalled. Working double time on a solution. Old school customer service.

Frankly I’m shocked Murphy had any time to bother you. He seemed to be working overtime annoying us this weekend.
