Balancing Covid precautions while trying to live some semblance of a life is what I strive to do. I’m immunocompromised and have kidney disease, but my level of precautions may not look exactly like yours… and that’s ok.

Very niche post, but…

I rly need privileged yt Covid cautious ppl to check themselves.

Not everyone can afford at-home molecular level testing.

Not everyone has a job where they can work fully remote.

Deep breaths.

You’re pro-life, but you support the guy who halted cancer research.

You’re pro-Constitution, but you support the ending of birthright citizenship.

You’re pro-free speech, but you support the kidnapping and imprisonment of people for speaking up against genocide.

This is the worst “I told you so” ever.

At best, health and infectious disease data will not be accurately reported in a timely way. At worst, it won’t be reported at all or will be purposefully misleading/false.

I can tell you that bird flu will become a serious problem under the current leadership in the US.

Not only is it a dick move to work out sick, but it’s just plain bad for your health.

There’s no “Make A Wish” for disabled or chronically ill adults, but I think we’d settle for decent healthcare that doesn’t put us into poverty.

If you’re actively sick in public and not wearing a mask 😷 (& u are able to/have access to one), you’re not a good person.

DO NOT give your money to Jeff Bezos. He has plenty. Make a list of the books you want to buy as gifts and buy or order from a local bookstore...if you want those stores to continue to exist.

The truth of the matter is that unless you’re a rich white guy, the system is not built for your health or wellness. It’s designed to check a box and put money in shareholders’ pockets.

I think able-bodied people have the privileged viewpoint that if something bad happened to them, the system would take care of them. That there would be doctors and medicines available at their beck and call.

Covid is still here, never left. Vaccines help but don’t fully prevent transmission. Disabled people still need to work, get healthcare, use transit.
