π¬ maybe it was broken before recap
04.11.2025 20:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Added heatsinks to the VRM (as per tradition) and put it in my Shuttle SG31. I also replaced 2 x 2GB DDR2 800 6-6-6-18 with Geil 4-4-4-12 (the motherboard doesn't support DDR2 1066, and I don't want to OC on a 250W PSUπ )
04.11.2025 19:18 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0chances of it dying on its own < corrupted raid, IMHO
04.11.2025 09:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You could probably always just take that one disk full of data out of RAID 1 and call it a backup, create something other than RAID 10 with the three remaining HDDs, and not risk(much) losing the data π«£
04.11.2025 08:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0but there's also maybe something totally different going on, who knows...

most of my knowledge is from this channel

99% that's not BGA balls, it would be pressure sensitive if so

anyway, I really love these Zotac 9800GT cards:
- they are low power and don't need 6pin power
- they are mostly quiet(if fan isn't cracked) and cool
- they are single slot(fit small PCs like Shuttle)
- they have audio input and HDMI output! - you can have hardware EAX audio and video in one cable!
depending on why it died, it maybe be cheaper to buy another used 1080Ti than to repair yours... like if vrm shorted and killed the GPU/memory π¬
03.11.2025 20:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0this tv is almost 30 years old and still working, so I'm not sure what are you talking about...
03.11.2025 20:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also, here's the underfill under UV, definitely a later generation with the adhesion promoter applied, but the underfill looks pretty much like one from 2008 π€
youtu.be/vpjtRjGPLhI?...
Well, it survived the wash and drying π«£
03.11.2025 20:30 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 1nvidia 7xxx would be the last, I think π€
03.11.2025 18:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On a 7500? I did, but I don't remember how well I could OC it
03.11.2025 16:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I could probably transplant 3.6 ns memory from my dying 8500, but to be honest, I don't see myself using the 7500 much... Well, if the 8500 dies completely, I guess I'll need to harvest memory anyway π
03.11.2025 16:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0wait, 4 ns is 250 MHz, so that's probably a memory controller limitation...
03.11.2025 16:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0lucky, my best 7500 is only 4 ns :(
03.11.2025 15:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0and it's funny how RAGE MAXX with Tualatin 1400 is faster than 7500 in 3dmark99π
03.11.2025 15:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0and what chipset motherboard, DDR or SDR?
03.11.2025 15:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What driver did you use for the 7500?
03.11.2025 15:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0yep
03.11.2025 15:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Polishing the turd - I added an external power connector, as per tradition, and I'm going to wash and dry the card, put it in my Core 2 Duo Shuttle PC, and see how long it will work π
03.11.2025 14:07 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 2But hey, they haven't listed it for $50, as they should have if it were PCI-E π€£ and they never do
03.11.2025 13:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, I haven't noticed PCI-E part π
03.11.2025 13:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0that's a Gainward cooler on a Gainward PCB, just not a 7800GS AGP 512MB π
03.11.2025 13:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wtf, why suddenly ATI X850XT PCI-E is $200 ?π€―
03.11.2025 12:51 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0So you don't have a (full?)backup and going to rebuild raid with each new drive added? π
03.11.2025 12:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I don't see a free game π
03.11.2025 12:36 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1What's the point of adding drives one by one and not creating the array at once?
03.11.2025 12:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0π€¬
there should be a way to report such sellers
