Britain’s social fabric has been torn but it’s just easie... The real causes of serious problems are ignored and those responsible are let off the hook

“It is a portrait of two Britains, one of which barely comprehends the challenges facing the other.” My ‪@theobserveruk.bsky.social column: observer.co.uk/news/opinion...

One cheek swab is not an invasion of anyone’s privacy. Women’s sports exist for a reason, and women deserve to have their own things. You want your own - create them. In the meantime, grow up.

You seem very mature. Thanks for the insight, wisdom, and your willingness to learn.

It’s one cheek swab.

This thread is a gold mine of males with anime avatars, threatening women with violence

Just wow. Someone actually thought it would be ok to post this online, on a thread about women sometimes needing their own spaces.

Starving Palestinians wait to receive food from a charity kitchen in Gaza City as Israel systematic policy of genocide and starvation continues. One boy in the centre of the photo is screaming in pain as he holds an empty pot for food.

Whatever we think is happening in Gaza, it is far worse.

The war crime of the 21st century is being live-streamed to a world allowing it to unfold. Life is being quite literally extinguished.

No-one will be able to explain this to future generations.

Lots of confusion around Epstein. Hope this helps!

🚨 A genocide is happening, but the Labour government is supplying weapons, intelligence and diplomatic cover to the perpetrator. Protesting this is not terrorism.

Every day, the same story, the same moral pit. The fall of this murderous government can't come soon enough. The only suitable place for Netenyahu is in court for war crimes.

That isn’t a one off loss of £40bn.

That is an ANNUAL £40 bn REVENUE ….the very long term trends are harder to predict but barriers to openness in trade costs. So decline is expected to continue.

Good luck to him apart from the games against us. The club decided he could go for a decent price. He made a massive contribution especially last season. For us now it’s all about who replaces him. #NFFC

As a Forest fan I think it’s an outrageous decision. But I’d ask how you think we’re accountable?

It’s tiresome isn’t it? How anyone could be that tone deaf to the realities facing British families and businesses is beyond me. Sadly there are lots more like that in this country - which goes some way to explaining your original post about people voting for Boris 🤯

How has Britain’s economy fared since Brexit? The five charts underpinning the UK-EU summit Almost a decade after the referendum, there are challenges to be tackled at Monday’s gathering hosted by Keir Starmer

Zero appetite? Not according to this article, also from the Guardian:

www.theguardian.com/business/202...

“More than six in 10 (62%) reckon Brexit has gone badly, including about a third of leave voters. A majority believe leaving has damaged the economy, UK trade and the cost of living.”

Have you read the article? It’s hardly debunking the 4% OBR prediction. It states that it might not be *quite* that bad, and then lists all of the ways in which UK trade has suffered because of Brexit

It’s beyond time to grow up - there are no sunlit uplands, and Farage is a charlatan.

Please, do share sources of this debunking.

I’d say a 4% reduction in GDP is the main cause of the current mess, yes.

Farage would be the worst-possible answer to the problems this country is dealing with. If Labour and the Tories got their messaging right and started to blame him for Brexit (the main cause of the mess), they could bury Reform easily. I don’t understand their reluctance to do so.

The fact that BJ was ever voted in to be PM of this county should be a source of national embarrassment. It’ll take far longer than one year to repair the last 14, sadly.
