It’s so interesting to see these urgent exhortations to reestablish decorum. I have not seen evidence of a “coarsening” of American society. If anything, the opposite: I’ve seen thousands of individuals asserting their humanity and protesting the indignity of the system UHC profits from.

Students should study the humanities not because it makes them better workers but because it rips you open and breaks your brain and changes everything you thought you knew. I *promise* you this. I *promise* it has this ability, no matter how smart you think you are. I have seen it countless times.

This whole series is phenomenally good and essential. At the same time, situating abortion care as pertaining to the "life of the mother" erases a lot of pregnant people's experiences and concedes to anti-abortion propaganda language about every pregnant person being a "mother."
