SNAP benefits have never been cut off in any government shutdown... until now. Not once. Not under Bush. Not under Obama. Not even during other long shutdowns. The only two times Americans have come close to losing food assistance - 2018 shutdown and now - were both under Donald Trump's presidency. In 2018, the USDA had to scramble to pay February benefits early to stop people from going hungry. Now in 2025, they're warning that millions may not get November benefits at all. We're talking about families who rely on $6 a day for food... being told there's "no funding"... while billionaires get tax breaks and ICE burns through millions on tear gas. This isn't fiscal responsibility. It's cruelty. Which seems to be the theme of Trump's administration." @TheJFreakinC

The White House is illegally refusing to use reserve funds to pay for SNAP benefits and Donald Trump is fully aware of this.

Don’t be gaslit, the money is there, but Trump refuses to prioritize the needs of American citizens because his main concern is a ballroom.

Trump doesn’t care about you.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Remember who is responsible for this! This is a GOP shut down engineered by Trump. He doesn't care if you suffer and die so long as he stays in power and covers up his crimes in the Epstein files. #trumpshutdown

We need to honestly name his behaviors so we can stop being surprised when he does what he does. He's a narcissistic, sociopathic crime boss and con man. His only real intelligence is reading people to see who's an easy mark and how he can manipulate them.

Dems need to set up a "government in exile" to prepare an alternative to this shit show. But they still benefit from the dark money and the chaos, so I don't have any real hope in them.
