The U.S. war on Iran is now estimated to cost $1 billion per day. Meanwhile Americans are told there’s no money for healthcare, hospitals, or basic social programs.

Quick questions for TTRPG publishers that I’ve asked privately but it’s been a bit:

1. If a form of coverage (AP/review/other) has transformed your sales overnight, what was it?

2. If you could wave a wand & have one creator/creative/media outlet praise or play your TTRPG, what would you wish for?

Long-COVID Sufferer Awarded Nearly $1M After Employer Refused to Let Her Work From Home | Law.com A jury in Nassau County awarded $954,000 to a longtime employee of Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank.

A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.

May this set a precedent.

Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.

It’s a game changer for people with disabilities.

If you’re part of any creative groups, unions or other organisations in the uk you should be passing news like this along and spreading the world. News like this gets has the chance to be overlooked but if enough organisations kick up a fuss things can change.

US-South Africa funding: As American cash dries up the fight to stop Aids gets harder Health experts fear that as testing and monitoring drops the risk of the further spread of HIV rises.

A horrific example can be seen in South Africa, which has been responding to one of the worst HIV epidemics in the world, with 180,000 new infections last year— a huge decline from when it was more than half a million, only possible because of funding which was just cut by the regime.

Even with some of the cuts restored, we will never achieve the 90% reduction of HIV within a generation now, a goal which was shockingly not entirely out of grasp only decades after it was seen as a death sentence. Sit with the fact that this is, however, what the UN was pitching only two years ago.

A screenshot of an email from an ad agency to Evil Hat Marketing:

Hey Evil Hat team,

Promised this is the last time you’ll hear from me.

We are wrapping up generating content on the house. The AI studio is starting to get fully booked with our paying clients, and I have strict orders to stop promoting this come the weekend.

I figured Evil Hat might as well get some work out of us at no cost while you can.

Want in before we close it up?

Best,
[redacted]

And then our reply:

Hi [redacted],

We will never use AI for our games or for our marketing. It's toxic to our customer audience and it's an ethical violation of the hard work put in by the human artists we hire to illustrate our books and the human writers who design our games.

In short, it's not "free work" it's theft.

Feel free to take me off your mailing list. Hope you turn around your business model because frankly, your current approach sucks shit.

-Tom

Transgender Chicago man hospitalized after saving baby from drowning in Lake Michigan “I wasn’t going to let that baby die,” Lio Cundiff said.

This 30-year-old transgender man, who can’t swim, jumped into Lake Michigan after a wind gust blew a baby in a stroller into the freezing water.

He’s being called a hero. But now he has medical expenses, and people are donating to a fundraiser to support him.

Tokyo Debunkers is my surprisingly fun app game find. I got it for the bishonen and cats. Now I am embroiled in card game mechanics and of all the things, a supernatural/horror story.

Anyone who knows me knows I am weakshit with horror. Now I have to hold my phone while horror happens. ☠️

One of the reasons I talk about the unsavory parts of Canada is because it crosses borders, this started in Canada with Indigenous victims, Starlight Tours/the Saskatoon freezing deaths. It made it to the US years ago, generally in the desert. Now ICE is using the same cruel practice across the US.
