Live in Reading, UK. Computer support by day, science fiction, genealogy, history, politics, museums* and pubs by night. Yes, yet another Twitter refugee. *figuratively speaking - I don't actually go to many museums at night.

I thought I would just do it on my PC, but no way was it accepting input from my webcam. Kept saying get closer (until it could only see one eye and it still wasn't close enough). Worked on the phone first time and, yes, I was hoping it would at least take a few seconds to think about it but no.

Oh hell, I remember Ventura. Working away in 1993 on a programme guide in the front room of a terraced house in Reading! 5 of us all weekend! And home made chilli con carne πŸ˜†

There were two things I wanted to go to today, in opposite directions, so I was agonising over which one to go to. But they both involve a lot of "outside" and maybe a busy bar later and I am just sitting here thinking I can't face either. I used to love the heat but I guess I am getting old!

You were right in an earlier message, good job you are not in the South. 28Β° in the shade here right now and going to get hotter they say. I love it (as long as I don't have to do anything strenuous) β˜€οΈπŸ˜€

And we are proud of our station. I know a number of pubs in Reading not far from the station where you won't have any problems using the facilities (cleavage or not). We are rightly proud of them too.

I prefer to change at Paddington as it is quicker but yes if engrossed in a good book would probably do the same. Or, of course, change at TCR and go for a beer 🍺

Yes, I went there a few years back. It was great to have so many twists and turns in that couple of mock streets and it did feel very atmospheric. It helped that there were not too many other visitors at the time I went as well.

The whole museum was interesting as was the area it is located in.

I asked Virgin if I could get rid of my home phone and they said yes and quoted me a higher monthly price. If I lost the phone I lost my package, and had to pay for remaining items individually.

I think I have had two in my entire life. I cannot work out how an average could possibly be 8. That has to be faulty data.

Well that didn't go as planned. Decided to record West Side Story as there is no way it could be as good as the 1961 film. Maybe just watch the first 10 minutes to see if how the music sounds. 150 minutes later just approaching climax. Wow, incredible. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Terrible service at #wetherspoons Back of Beyond, Reading, last night. App order took 32 minutes to arrive. Woefully understaffed for two days before Christmas. And an rude manager, she may have had to deal with a police incident but no excuse when it is over.

So this is my first post on Bluesky. Thanks to friends who are following me.

(Reluctantly keeping my Twitter account for now until more companies start using here rather than just registering a placeholder.)

I am only likely to post occasionally; use it more to keep up with what is going on.
