Hi everyone! I am happy to announce Sunset Melee, a New England Melee and Rivals 2 Regional on January 10-11, 2026, at the Westin Hotel in Waltham!
This is the LAST TOURNAMENT that both @motobug.net and I are going to run, and we hope to see many of you there!!!

Being very candid, I think I'm choosing to let go of melee at a pretty good time early next year.
There's been a lot on my mental stack over the last year or so, to varying degrees over time. This year's been fun but I'm finding that I badly need some peace and quiet in my life.

I checked my calendar and while I haven't run a weekly in 4 years and haven't really cared to play melee since 2019, I 've been to 20 tournaments in the last 15+ weeks or so going back to June 14th.
Looking forward to things slowing down in October. This has been a busy summer...

Overall, I'd say I am pretty happy with how New England Melee performed at Collision.
Things didn't always go perfectly, but I'd say we did alright. I am proud of NEM for showing up in a big way this weekend. :)

I'm happy to see a lot of people at Collision so far, but I'm finding my social battery isn't what it used to be. Talking to people for hours in a big venue is definitely a lot, hah.
That said, I'm still happy to see and talk to people, looking forward to doing more of that!

Gonna be open for a bit about this, but I feel like over the last year or so, I've had more on my mental stack than is healthy for me to varying degrees over time.
I am very much looking forward to things simplifying in my life next year. That will be good.

My 33rd birthday is today, but I had to run this on Saturday, and it was an absolute blast.
Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the occasion than being amongst so many of my friends. :)

Went to Bit Bar in Salem tonight for their melee monthly. It's a great venue! I'm glad I got to see it with lots of friendly faces around.
I'd say this was a pretty cool event, and I definitely recommend everyone who is in the area check this place out sometime!

I'd say the NESL Finals event this weekend was a great success! I am happy I got the opportunity to work with a fine team. :)

Today, I spent my Sunday at my first Strange Brew Melee monthly and got to spend some time with some good people.
I was able to get a decent pic with a few of the folks who ran the tournament today as well. Long live NH melee!

Well folks, the cat's out of the bag - I'm teaming up with the folks behind New Game Plus and Balance Patch to run my birthday bash at Allston Allstars V in Boston on August 2nd!
We're expecting that melee singles will cap out at this event, so register ASAP if you want to go!

The NH crew has made it home. I'd say we had a good group for tonight's tournament! It was a pleasure to visit GGRI alongside a few friends, Rhode Island Melee has a fine scene.

Today is my first visit to Rhode Island for a melee tournament in more than 10 years, and my first time at GGRI.
This is a cool tournament! They capped out the bracket at 32 entrants as well. Great stuff!

Almost forgot to put this out, but I was lucky enough to get a pic with a few of the folks that run Prodigy!
Was nice seeing everyone there! @litorally.bsky.social, @jacqinora.bsky.social, @trance404.bsky.social and @creestab.bsky.social (who ran Rivals but isn't in this pic) all did great work!

So that's all I have for now. We owe it to our friends to look out for each other, and it's good to talk with them if they have serious problems with drinking, substance abuse, or respecting others. You might just help em stay out of serious trouble. (4/4)

That said, we as people are accountable for our actions, and I hope mango learns to treat others with more respect and be a better family man.
I see many people wanting the best for him, as do I. Some of the worst times in one's life can often lead to many positive changes. (3/4)

In my family, addictive personalities and alcoholism runs deep on both sides, so I've seen firsthand how that can contribute to bad outcomes.
Within the community, mango's excessive drinking went mostly unchecked, and in hindsight it's easy to see how that could go wrong. (2/4)
