Oh ironically, I was also thinking about how Netflix documentaries love splitting stories across three or more parts but it’s a fair point on their movie output. Also heard/read something about how heavy they deliberately go on exposition due to expecting most people to be staring at their screens.

Well, I’m making a big sweeping statement of course, but anecdotally, it feels like an aggravating trend. Obviously not applicable to ALL moviemakers.

When people shot on film they had to be more disciplined, forcing decisions that made for much leaner stories. Digital has facilitated indulgence and hardly anyone seems to be able to tell a story economically anymore.

As Karl says far more articulately, stop being entitled impatient divvies.

Thank you for articulating much of what I also felt over the weekend. Unpopular or not, I’m glad someone said it.

For whatever it’s worth, I really appreciated your very candid contribution and I’m glad someone keeps banging that drum, no matter how uncomfortable it feels. Some recent reactions have struck me as borderline spoilt brat behaviour. Hope you’re doing much better now on a personal level, too.

Love this. In his “I Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.
