...as you say, you're sort of treating it like two distinct and different games; one while in a mech, one outside of it.

When you pose the question, folks think of a single mecha game that offers the depth, so that's why I'm unsurprised you get "oh, Lancer?" often.

Yeah, I understand why people point to Lancer when you say you want more from a mech game, because it offers more than simple pilot rolls and "mechs as equipment" feel that some other games do.

If I'm being perfectly honest, that's a level of simulation and complexity that doesn't seem fun *to me personally* as I fear it would just get in the way of roleplaying.

I wouldn't have inferred it from your first post, as I'd never imagine going that far personally, so I understand the confusion.

With the special editions it's documentaries and commentaries on discs, etc, so even with the equipment trying to digitise it would be a huge task and beyond me.

I have around 30-40 books that I've been wanting to take off my shelves for some time now, honestly. That's not so difficult.

The DVDs/BDs are another issue as they're mostly world cinema, special editions and the like.
