Ha! I was wondering if anyone would notice that. The beat up paperback was the one I got when I was 10 - from Bradlees Movie tie-in edition - and read in a day. The hardcover I bought used from a library in Billings Montana when I was out there doing paleo fieldwork. Lost World I bought new in ‘95.

I received this AMAZING art by @joabaldwin.com of Shesheshen, Homily, and Blueberry in the mail and I can't stop staring at it.

Thank you, yes! I didn't know it from that book first, but just as a reference that didn't usually get past the first two lines.

They don't really have one. Lap is first come, first snuggled, with the spot closest to me the most coveted, then my knees, then my feet. Joey arrived last and tried to find a spot elsewhere before settling for feet, but she's been first other times.

It's always so charming when they notice I've got the blanket, a drink, the remotes, and gather on the couch. Sometimes I can barely sit down before Strata climbs on me.

Thank you! It was a gift from a friend and the cats adore it.

Eoconodon! You may remember them from the end of The Last Days of the Dinosaurs.

This German shepherd-size mammal lived about 680,000 years after the impact that closed the Age of Dinosaurs, an early member of an ancient carnivorous group called mesonychids. Plus they’re super cute. 🧪

Any touch with foot and the cats look at me like “What are you doing?”
