Back when the kid was 5. She had some plans, it seems.

The amount of times I've been told "no" in this whole writing thing is unfathomable. SO MANY! You hear no more than you hear yes by far. Some of the rejections are easy to slough off, some hurt baaaaad, but either way, you dust yourself off and do it again. It's the only way things can move foward.

My first novel came out when I was 40, I have no college degree, I put out four well-loved books on an indie press before I got a Big 5 deal, queried 90+ literary agents before I landed my first one. Point being, you'll hear SO MANY versions of "no", but there's not a specific RIGHT WAY to do this.
