If an official commits an impeachable offense and nobody acts to impeach, it is no longer an impeachable offense.

People who oppose impeachment as “pointless” because it seems unlikely to result in removal do not understand this very simple point and seem unwilling to even try to understand it.

We gotta come up with a better system than “everything rests on whether these twelve billionnaires are nice”

News Team,
Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier.
I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity.
Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.
We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed
to kill the story.
If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient.
If the standard for airing a story becomes
"the government must agree to be
interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast.
We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state.
These men risked their lives to speak with us.
We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their
stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless.
CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones. We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it.
When it fails to air without a credible
explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet.
I care too much about this broadcast to watch
it be dismantled without a fight.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Breaking: An Epstein survivor just silenced press conference attendees when she delivered the following remarks:

“Today we stand in a moment that will decide whether our government belongs to the American people, or to those who prey on them.”

Exactly. Show him his post first. Put it up on a screen. Then ask him virtually any question about any word, phrase, or sentence in it.

Summer is when denominations hold their annual conventions. Given how much harm they cause, it's worth asking what role if any religious institutions should play in our lives, & if they're capable of liberation instead. I missed the nazi saluters being let in to ACNA but

when I was in ACNA those who platformed nazi's on podcasts or retweeted nazi's on social media were policed less than those of us who called attention to white supremacy or church leader abuse so

AI is taking over our political economy, incl education.

INthe near future AI will replace many (millions?) of jobs which will 'look great' in the stock market (corps will slash their costs associated with salaries, healthcare, hiring, retirement, etc) but will wreck havoc on average people.

What's your favorite TV show right now?

Mine: Severance.

I could watch it on mute for its cinematography and production design, lighting, costuming...and the story, character development, human condition, themes - all of it love all of it.

Also: I'm on S2E3 so NO SPOILERS.

What's your fave rn?

when you see something hypocritical or duplicitous & it's obvious to you but not other people

there's usually something at work 'under the surface' for that person to make 'the hypocritical to others' entirely rational for them

hypocritical behavior has deeper coherent logic that makes it rational

step 1: create problem under auspices of solving one

step 2: people die due to your 'solution'

step 3: blame DEI for their death

step 4: propose solution to your own cluster that makes you $$$$+++

step 5: receive acclaim as hero who saved the day

This is how MAGA works.

Jesus and:

His Mother
The Syro-Phoenician (Canaanite) Woman
The Samaritan Woman
The Woman with the Issue of Blood
The Woman at Simon the Pharisees House
Martha and Mary

In every interaction there are common themes- patterns- that indicate the work and redemption Jesus had for women. +

If I oppose you it's because
it's the best way i know to love you
+ to love those you are harming.

If i hated you i'd want to destroy, defeat, dehumanize you.
But I don't want any of that for you. Or me.

I want your reformation, your redemption, your restoration into a whole community.

An excerpt from @matttebbe.bsky.social FB post. The heart of MAGA

Trump voter struggles with Trump doing to her family what she voted for him to do to other families.

This is the heart of MAGA:

1. “privilege and benefit for me, but not for thee” 1/2

Tl;Dr-

it was about us, without us, in front of us, w/ Black people instead of us, not needing us, but involving us, as *spectators* not participants, as *the observed* not the observers, as *the critiqued* instead of the critiquers & all that is hella triggering and threatening to white supremacy.
