Nailed it. And when it's gone and we get laid off or quit, always labeled as the problem and ghosted as a good riddance. Any big wins we implemented for years shadowed by the demise.

They’re coming for us, and it’s not hyperbole to ask with sincerity for my cis/het friends and our allies to not just be anti transphobic but actively loudly transphobic. Your dialogue could save a life.

Engaging with a favorite topic in a mild hyper focus is a nice relief from burnout.

💯 - i have deleted so many. being perceived and not knowing how, void of online or not being able to read cues in person, has always been an issue.

Don't recommend scissors in the bathroom during meltdown because now my hair looks like a goomba.

Yes!!! In person is so much better/easier perhaps. It was so funny with my mom - she wouldn't "believe" when I'd talk about data and studies etc but as soon as i bought her some books she was fully convinced by the men who wrote them (same source 😂) - worked eventually!

Audhd and yes. Like… this account, and some other huge non-anonymous projects I’ve struggled to build/maintain - with pauses - during this. Perhaps some bitter or frustration but mostly want to help others avoid this and the exploitation that comes with it.

Humans are very strange. Including me, I know!

But cognitive dissonance, social whatever’s, “it will never happen to me” and “it’s easier not to know” wins.

Until they get hit with that dangerous thing I tried to warn them about… cause I dunno, that whole studied-it-at-university-and-actually-know-a-thing thing…

Shrug…humans.

They triple down. And then they usually ghost. I know this is a “thing” and they hate it. But it’s wild they hate it.

Also with the whole social hierarchy thing. It doesn’t extend to experience or education for them. If I have any observed hierarchy, it’s that - experience/edu I can learn from.

Probably the first “social mistake.” Anyway, they double down on their wildly incorrect thing (and this is often something unsafe or damaging - the reason I speak up). I clarify and add, because maybe I wasn’t clear, and add why (and how I know, perhaps). I give them the benefit of the doubt.

I find this so curious in human behavior. So something comes up in a topic I know inside and out and professionally (as in, I have formal education and experience). The other person says something wildly inaccurate, or dangerous, and because this is a professional area I speak up with facts/info.

I don't know but if so, yikes :(
