DEXTER CANOY, MD MPhil PhD
Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University

The session aims to highlight some important questions around cardiovascular disease and its prevention. The presentation will explore how different disciplines and their analytical tools – from epidemiology, randomised trials, and machine intelligence – can be used in big data research to provide reliable evidence to advance knowledge in disease aetiology and inform clinical practice. Some of the challenges posed by multimorbidity in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease will also be discussed.
