So to summarise: You failed to take out the regime. You failed to destroy nuclear material. You failed to eradicate Iran's retaliatory capacity. You brought chaos to the Middle East. You killed god knows how many people. You destabilised your own economy. All for nothing, but the ego of madman.

Imagine my shock when I got into a cab in Kyiv and my cab driver Vadim was wearing this shirt. Turns out his girlfriend moved to Winnipeg last year and sent back gifts. Shout out to her, I laughed so hard.

Damn, it sure would be awful if a theocratic rogue state had access to nuclear weapons.

I take my ADHD meds only occasionally (only on days I really need to write urgently), and it’s so bad, especially a new brand my doc gave me. Feel fine but can’t sleep for 24 hours.

through most of late 2024 and 2025, Ukraine was taking down 200 to 500 or more of these literally almost every night, including shooting from rooftops and big guns on pick-up trucks, and at the time few seemed to recognize that as uniquely valuable knowledge of modern self-defense.

It’s very surreal to randomly stumble across her face in collages like this. She was a person! I still find her hair ties lying around our friend’s apartment where she lived. How can she be a symbol now?

Third row, left is our friend Khrystyna. She was cool and warm and brave. Gave everything she had for Ukraine. We were supposed to grab a drink, just for girl talk. I kept being too busy. Then she was out on mission and I figured I’d text when she got back. She never did. And she’s never forgotten.

Thank you for including a photo of our friend Khrystyna. (Third row, left.) She was wonderful and brave and gave everything she had, every minute and every hryvnia, for Ukraine.

These people are, to be blunt, substantially less intelligent than they believe they are.

One of the lessons of the Iran war is that it was a huge mistake not to even try to put any of the Iraq war architects in prison. We shouldn’t make it again.

I’ve lived in Ukraine over three years and, while there is a far-right here as many places, I assure you I see and hear far more about Nazis in Ukraine from folks like you on Bluesky than actually in Ukraine in all that time. Reality here is not the highly selective propaganda image you’ve been fed.

The March 15, 2025, killing of Ruben Ray Martinez drew almost no public attention.

But Martinez is now the first known American citizen shot to death by federal immigration agents during President Trump’s second term. https://wapo.st/4lbpGYC

Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.

Dozens killed as Israeli special forces raid Lebanese village in search of 40-year-old remains Overnight, one Israeli operation saw at least 41 people killed and 40 injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

Pretty serious allegation here. "Witnesses told the BBC that the Israeli soldiers had arrived disguised in Lebanese military fatigues and used ambulances with signs of Hezbollah's Islamic Health Organization."

Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.

From Tehran: "It’s catastrophic. The smoke has entered our homes, the flames are still rising and it feels like the sun is shining… The flames are so bright the highways look like it’s day time. So bright but doesn’t feel right... Help please!”

It's amazing people will claim "Canada and the USA have the same culture" and then on something as fundamental as "do you trust your fellow citizens to be good" we are further apart than any other two countries

Minister on the move always willing to adapt to expansive western Manitoba parish’s shifting demographics It’s early on a Sunday morning. The city of Brandon is still sleeping. Downtown, across from the courthouse, the only sign of life stirs in the parking lot of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, as Rev. Phi...

For this month’s edition of One Day: I spent one day with a priest in rural Manitoba, tending a parish that traces a journey through how the face of Western Manitoba is changing — including a thriving young Hispanic community.
