Not So Different

A two panel comic. In the first panel, Bex is talking to her neurodivergent friends. As she yaps away, the text reads: wow I'm literally so good at talking to people. Autism who? Social anxiety whomst? I'm so fun and everyone likes me! In the second panel, Bex is stressed out while attempting to talk to a stranger. She says, "wow that's so cool! Omg that's really cool! Cool! That's cool!" While thinking, "oh my fucking God help help help stop saying cool! I'm so boring! I can't believe how terrible I am at this!"

often 😔 I've found taking omezaprole helps sometimes but if I'm just having a quick flare-up taking a sip of (very diluted) baking soda water IMMEDIATELY resolves my issues for at least 20-30 minutes. makes ya burp tho

The average public school in the U.S. has 500 students. ICE is currently detaining over 7 schools' worth of children, many of whom are being held in inhumane conditions.

Children do not belong in government detention.

Lady: Awww cute. Its movements are really really realistic too. *squinting* Is it blushing

a comic. sinkdog sits on the countertop, broken dishes on the floor around her. she apologizes to a dog character (let's call her daisy) sweeping up the broken glass, who responds "it's okay!" in the next panel daisy is washing dishes in sinkdog, who is laying on the counter, looking away with tears running down her face. "it will get like this again." sinkdog comments. "and i'll help you again." daisy replies. "even if i never get better?" "of course." in the next couple of panels we see a clean, normal sink, and sinkdog rising up from the counter, now a regular intact dog character, freed from the mental block that was the dirty dishes. daisy clasps sinkdog (who is now wearing a hoodie and pj pants) on the shoulders and says "i hope i could unstick you a little bit." sinkdog smiles tearfully back. in the final panel they hug. daisy says "i love you." sinkdog looks relieved.

everyone wished really hard and manifested a friend for sinkdog

This is a good explanation how an abusers actions, with the wisdom and time of hindsight, sometimes become something that makes you see them in a more pitiful light. It doesn’t make them excusable or ok, but it provides insight. It takes empathy to do that I think. Beautiful work
