I played Wednesdays last year and I'm delighted to see it in the IGF noms for narrative. I highly recommend playing it, but be sure to check the content warnings - it's a tough story, but one that deserves to be told

the game loop is vaguely:

1. Pokémon asks for specific furniture/item
2. You need to go mine for the resources, or befriend another Pokémon by creating their "habitat", which is a specific collection of items placed together on the ground
3. Then you fuck around until you get another quest

And then sprinkle in a bit of the personality and post-apocalyptic lore from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon! Your villagers are all Pokémon with personalities, albeit light ones, and sometimes they can even perform specific tasks if you give them the right furniture (e.g. a shop where they can sell things)

imagine the terrain deformation and creation of locations from DQ Builders, where someone will ask for a specific house or room or combination of items in order to move in.

Add Animal Crossing-style decoration, which requires Minecraft-like resource gathering and management to craft new objects
