I do 5 sections of ENG 101 this semester and have a maximum 5 day turnaround. So I make substantial typed comments on drafts but none in the final-- the detailed rubric is what I use. To make the comments, focus on 1 or 2 big things. Timer until you can do 2 mins a paper WELL.

I did something important today. Over the past year I've been developing an introductory women's literature course for my department. Today it was approved, and it turns out we've never had such a class. But we do now, and I'm humbled I get to teach it. This work is so important.
