Mick North's five year old daughter Sophie was murdered 30 years ago along with 15 other children and their teacher at Dunblane's primary school.

He has called on Nigel Farage to renounce his description of the UK's handgun ban as 'ludicrous', but Farage refuses.

My week, from passports to pharmacy services Residents in West Byfleet have raised serious concerns with me about local pharmacy provision, particularly around staffing levels, opening hours, and disability access at Cohen’s pharmacy.

In my latest #Woking News and Mail column, I’ve written about campaigning on pharmacies - which is especially an issue in West Byfleet - and my work standing up for British dual nationals who have been impacted by changes to Government immigration rules.

Watched the Chancellor talk about the economic impact of the Middle East conflict earlier - the spike in oil and gas prices risk causing a cost of living crisis. The Government should scrap the planned fuel duty rise and help SMEs with high energy bills.

Visiting #Woking’s Signal Box to get a behind the scenes look at how our rail network works. Our local signalling infrastructure is from the 1990s - so not too surprising commuters like me get delayed due to faults, why I’m pushing to investment to improve our transport system.

TEXT: International Women's Day

Today is International Women’s Day, a time to celebrate women's stories and achievements.

We honour their impact and recognise the work still needed to achieve equality.

Together, may we uplift, empower, and create a world where every woman thrives.

In a joint letter I signed, Lib Dem MPs are pressing the Government for clarity on how many GPs are applying digital medical markers for firearm licence holders.

We should make sure these markers mandatory to improve consistency and public safety.

Work is underway on the M25 between Junctions 10 and 11 to cut road noise for residents in Byfleet and West Byfleet in my #Woking constituency. I hope this improves the daily lives of those living nearby the motorway - and the motorists that drive on it!

At #PMQs yesterday, I asked the Prime Minister to visit my old school - #Woking High - with me, to see it’s crumbling classrooms and ensure that it urgently gets the funding it needs so my young constituents learn in a school fit for the 21st Century.

Yesterday, I raised the fact that #Woking High School had to close a classroom as it had a rotting floor and a hole in the roof. Currently classrooms are held together by gaffa tape. At #PMQs, I called for urgent government support to repair and refurbish the school’s buildings.

I’ve previously got the Government to write off £500 million of #Woking Borough Council’s historic debts. The Local Government Minister has now confirmed it will give our new West Surrey Council interim financial support - it’s vital this council starts on a firm financial footing.

Image of Daisy Cooper speaking in Parliament. Above her head is the following quote:

The Chancellor today has wasted a chance to turn things around.

Our country is paying the price for two anti-growth Labour budgets and the Chancellor today has wasted a chance to turn things around.

The Government must act now to tackle costs, get Britain growing again and protect our country.

Last week, I was on @skynewsrss.bsky.social commenting about #PMQs - this week, I’ve been picked to ask a question of the Prime Minister myself! People of #Woking, what do you think I should ask?

Shabana Mahmood to announce asylum system changes to take effect From Monday, asylum seekers granted refugee status in the UK will be offered only temporary protection.

The Home Secretary is chasing Reform to get headlines while failing on the bigger problems of dangerous small boat crossings and use of hotels. This measure is a red herring that will only add more bureaucracy - which they won’t be able to cope with!

Ed Davey quote which reads:
No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, letting the US use UK bases for strikes on Iran is a slippery slope.

He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East.

Starmer must come to Parliament, set out the legal case in full, and give MPs a vote.

We have a duty to defend our brave British troops and citizens in the region, and that must be the focus of any operations. The UK must not be complicit in illegal military action.

The Prime Minister must come to Parliament, set out the legal case for letting the US use UK bases for strikes on Iran and give MPs a vote.

He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East.

The Iranian people deserve to live free from a brutal regime. Donald Trump's unilateral and illegal military action won't deliver freedom, peace and security. It will only unleash more bloodshed.

The UK can't be dragged into another protracted Middle Eastern war by a US President. Keir Starmer needs to rule out the use of UK bases for any future unilateral US strikes.

I was recently able to meet and talk with the #Woking Sea Cadets and their volunteer team leading up to Armed Forces Week. It was also lovely to meet their Junior Sea Cadets. This has furthered my interest and commitment in the recognition of dedicated cadets and their merits.

Pleased to visit Nationwide’s #Woking branch to meet the manager Fabian and his team. Unlike other banks or building societies, Nationwide is definitely staying in the town - in fact it’s had an increase in customers recently.

Why health has topped the list of my priorities Over the past couple of weeks, two of my key priorities have been cancer screening and social housing standards. In this column, I want to share an update on the work I’ve been doing in both areas.

In my latest fortnightly column in the #Woking News and Mail, I’ve written about promoting locally based cancer charity @walkthewalk.bsky.social in Parliament and improving standards of social housing. Read the full story here ⬇️

Across the country, vital care services continue to be underfunded and treated as tomorrow’s problem.

Parents of disabled children and adults live in constant fear. They deserve security, dignity, and a government that acts before homes close and lives are uprooted.

Lib Dems FORCE government to release the Andrew files

Today is an important step in dismantling the system that protected Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein’s other associates.

The victims, survivors and their families have waited far too long for the truth to come out and justice to be done.
