More and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats for the constructive opposition they deserve, from the NHS and social care to standing up for Britain on the world stage.

We will always fight for the Fair Deal that you, your family, and your community deserve.

Thank you to the @rnib.bsky.social for taking me on a guided walk in #Woking to understand the issues facing blind and partially sighted people. It’s so important our streets are accessible to all!

Netanyahu’s plan to occupy Gaza is abhorrent and it's increasingly clear that his goal is ethnic cleansing.

The UK can't just sit on its hands. The Prime Minister must stop all arms exports to Israel and sanction Netanyahu and his cabinet.

I’ve become an organ donor! More than 100,000 transplants have taken place in the last 30 years since the creation of the NHS Organ Donor Register. But around 8,000 people are waiting for an #OrganDonation - please become a donor today: www.organdonation.nhs.uk

Will Forster questions Deputy PM on funding for social housing
YouTube video by Woking Liberal Democrats Will Forster questions Deputy PM on funding for social housing

I’ve pressed Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner on if the Government's Β£39 billion investment in affordable and social housing is what they can afford, rather than what the country needs to fix the shortages in #Woking and beyond.

Yet another appalling decision from @surreycc.gov.uk. Penalising unpaid carers at a time when they most need our support.

In May, I participated in Crossroads Care Surrey’s "I'm a Director Get Me Out of Here", raising funds for this vital cause.

end the profiteering - cap SEND provider profits

end the profiteering - cap SEND provider profits

It is an absolute scandal that private equity companies are profiteering from the crisis in SEND education.

Liberal Democrats would cap these exorbitant profits at 8% to put money into the SEND system, not shareholders’ pockets.

It's time to put our children first, not corporate greed.

Top private SEND providers are raking in millions while families fight to receive basic support.

We are demanding a profit cap to stop this exploitation and put funding back into the SEND system, where it belongs.

NEW: @eddavey.libdems.org.uk, all Lib Dem MPs and Lord Purvis have written to Keir Starmer to ask that he:
- immediately recognise a state of Palestine
- pressure Israel to fully reopen aid routes into Gaza
- push to secure the release of all remaining hostages.

Statement from Ed Davey:

Recognition of the state of Palestine should not be used as a bargaining chip. It should have happened months ago.

We also need far greater action to stop the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, including fully ceasing arms sales and implementing sanctions against the Israeli cabinet.

We also need far greater action to stop the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, including fully ceasing arms sales and implementing sanctions against the Israeli cabinet.

The Liberal Democrats welcome this first step but urge Keir Starmer to go further and recognise Palestine immediately.

Far greater action is also needed to address the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, including fully ceasing arms sales and imposing sanctions on the Israeli cabinet.

(summary of statement from Ed Davey on Southport tragedy)

Ed Davey says we hold in our hearts Bebe, Elsie and Aliceβ€”three little girls, horrifyingly murdered. He says our thoughts are with their families and friends, who still grieve such a cruel loss. He condemns the appalling racism and violence egged on by hate preachers and conspiracy theorists, and honours everyone who came together with love and compassion, and who stood peacefully in solidarity, rejecting racism and Islamophobia.

Today we hold in our hearts Bebe, Elsie and Alice, three little girls so cruelly murdered in a heartbreaking tragedy.

As we grieve today, let us also remember that we are a caring country, defined by compassion, decency and respect for the rule of law.

I've called for a reduction in beer duty to support pubs and breweries - who have been hit hard by inflation and tax rises.

A cut in beer duty will protect jobs in #Woking and across the country. Watch the full debateπŸ‘‡

Just 66% of patients admitted to #Woking’s local A&E at St Peter’s Hospital in June were seen within four hours - far below the national target and the 76% national average.

I asked the Government to investigate the cause of these lengthy delays.

YouTube video by Woking Liberal Democrats Woking MP questions Deputy Prime Minister on SEND funding

I hear from parents in #Woking all the time about the crisis in SEND services, so I questioned Angela Rayner on whether councils will be properly funded for the SEND services they need to deliver to ensure no child loses out in the forthcoming White Paper on SEND.

Feeling the heat: Woking students lobby MP on climate change concerns Last month was the warmest June on record in England, with two heatwaves. The first heatwave of July has soon followed.

Good to talk to the #Woking News and Mail about my recent meeting with activists concerned about climate change. I will continue to campaign to stop sewage going in our rivers and for greater action on climate change.

Photo of a water sample being taken. Guardian headline "Ofwat to be abolished as ministers look to create new water regulator"

At last, the Government has listened to the Liberal Democrats. Since November 2022, we have been calling for Ofwat to be scrapped.

If the Government do not commit to this, it would be a dereliction of their duty and a betrayal of millions of customers across the country.
